“As a loyal customer since 1989, I was generally happy with ADT’s service until I requested a doorbell and garage light installation. However, when I reviewed the paperwork, I was surprised to learn that an electrician needed to be present during the installation. I explained to the ADT representative that I didn’t feel I should be charged for two people doing the same job, and I canceled my request. I even confirmed with them that the cancellation had been processed in early September. Despite this, it appears the job was still carried out. I’m incredibly frustrated that my concerns weren't addressed – I asked why the recording wasn’t reviewed, and I received no explanation.”

I was incredibly frustrated with my recent experience with ADT. On May 17th, I contacted them about an issue with our Nest camera not recording history. After being transferred through several departments, including Nest Support, I was finally connected with Lance at 320pm, who confirmed I needed a replacement camera. He promised management would follow up within 24 to 48 hours. However, seven business days later, I still hadn't heard anything. This lack of communication and follow-up is completely unacceptable and frankly, appalling. I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received and seriously regret switching to Nest Cameras.

“My experience with Protect Your Home in Annapolis has been incredibly frustrating. They’ve completely dropped the traditional survey process, which led to a huge amount of miscommunication and ultimately, a very poor installation. The first installer arrived without the water detectors we’d ordered, and after a six-hour delay, we had to send him away – we had a dinner reservation! Then, despite being told by Indianapolis that they’d make sure he had the right equipment, he never received the detectors. He even went back to the office to get them, adding another three or four hours to the process. While the installer was competent, the whole thing was chaotic. We had an alarm triggered unexpectedly on a Saturday night, and one of the sensors is still unconnected. To top it off, a water detector is mounted incorrectly, which almost caused a flood! It’s a real shambles and a complete failure to deliver a reliable security system.”

Honestly, my experience with this company has been incredibly frustrating. While the initial installation went smoothly, I received a clearly used and faulty remote control that didn’t even work, and my alarm continued to trigger constantly – it’s genuinely frightening for my child. When I requested a replacement, they insisted I pay an extra fee. Things went from bad to worse when I explained my financial difficulties; they suddenly offered a significant discount, including three months of free service. But it felt like a huge slap in the face after being treated unfairly for so long. It’s unbelievable that such a simple phone call could have resolved everything, and I felt completely taken advantage of. To add insult to injury, they then demanded an extra month's payment just to cancel my service, with no real explanation. It’s outrageous! After ten years of paying their fees, I felt completely like a sucker, especially knowing a friend uses a different company and pays only $16 a month for a better system. I’ve cancelled my service, and I strongly advise anyone considering this company to do thorough research and explore other options – you’re much better off shopping around.

I’m giving this company zero stars. My review isn’t really about this specific location, but about the whole company’s approach. The staff I encountered were incredibly rude and had absolutely no customer service skills. When they first came to our house, a young man and woman, we made it clear we weren’t interested in their services as we hadn’t moved in yet. However, they kept pushing us, eventually returning a month later and knocking on our door at 6 am while my baby was sleeping. They even told me my husband hadn’t spoken to them, which was a lie. They continued to be dismissive and rude, even telling me to “slow down and listen” – completely inappropriate given they didn't know us. It’s unacceptable to just barge into someone’s home like that, and absolutely appalling to be treated with such disrespect, especially when you’re trying to sell a service. In today’s market, there are so many companies offering similar services, and it’s basic courtesy to treat customers with respect, no matter their role. You’re a service provider, and that demands respect.

“Everything went incredibly smoothly – the installation was a breeze and I couldn’t be happier with the service I received.”
