“I hired Affordable Drywall for a wall skim coat project, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. I spoke with what I believe was the owner, Ray, and clearly outlined my requirement for a level 4 or 5 finish – a complete skim coat on all specified walls. He quoted $2,000, which we reduced to $1800, and he confidently stated he’d been doing this type of work for 30 years. However, upon completion, he had only applied tape and mud to the joints and screws. When I pointed out this didn’t align with my expectations, he became defensive, claiming he didn’t understand what a level 4 or 5 finish entailed and attempting to dismiss my concerns. Frankly, as a construction superintendent with seven years of experience, I was shocked by his lack of knowledge. It became clear he was significantly underqualified, and I wouldn’t have hired him if I hadn’t needed a professional. He’s essentially a junior apprentice, and the ‘affordable’ name certainly reflects his skill level. Given the price he charged, it’s a complete rip-off. If you choose to go with Affordable Drywall, be extremely cautious and manage your expectations – it simply won’t work with this contractor.”

Ray did a fantastic job – he was really professional, always willing to help, and just a pleasure to have around. I’d definitely recommend him for any paint or drywall work.
