“I hired Lenard Electric to handle repairs after the July 31st storm, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating. The electrician arrived as scheduled, but left a huge mess in my yard – garbage, old boxes, and wiring – that I had to request the owner, Jim Lenard, to clean up a month later. Worse, he’d removed an exterior outlet and didn’t replace it. When I brought this to his attention, he responded with a really nasty text message, cancelling a project he was already working on and telling me not to text him on Sundays. It was completely unprofessional and unreasonable. Looking back, I also felt his prices were too high, and his behavior was just unacceptable. There are plenty of other reliable and courteous electricians in Duluth who would have been a much better choice. To add to the problem, Jim has been persistently contacting me via text, even demanding I use my real name after a mistake was made logging into my computer. He’s even tried to argue that he was paid late, despite the fact that the payment cleared as soon as the insurance check arrived. He still hasn't acknowledged that his electrician should have replaced the missing outlet, and frankly, he seems determined to defend his awful reaction. I’ve now hired someone else to fix the outlet, and I’ve asked Jim Lenard to stop contacting me – his response is simply indefensible.”

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jim and Lenard Electric for about 15 years, and I wholeheartedly recommend them. Jim is incredibly knowledgeable and a real pleasure to work with – he’s very straightforward and always provides clear, helpful guidance. Plus, his team is consistently professional and efficient. It’s been a fantastic partnership.”

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jim Lenard and LENARD ELECTRIC on several occasions, and I can’t recommend him enough. He’s a really straightforward and skilled electrician, and we’ve always appreciated his reasonable pricing. If you’re looking for a reliable master electrician, give Jim a call – SERVPRO of the Twin Ports consistently works with him and finds him to be a valuable partner.”
-
“I was really impressed with Jim’s crew. They were punctual, answered all my questions clearly, and handled a change in the project scope – caused by some unexpected issues – incredibly smoothly and efficiently. I’m so pleased I found this company and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing electrical work.”

Okay, here’s a natural-sounding evaluation based on the text: “I was really disappointed with this contractor. He presented what he called an ‘estimate,’ but it quickly became clear that it was essentially a quote – a bid – that he’d offer once he visited my property. Worse, he didn’t disclose this upfront, and he’s been doing it this way for over 20 years without anyone raising an issue. He even tried to justify charging me a minimum of $175 an hour, including travel time, based on a very brief 10-minute visit to my house. Because of this confusing and ultimately inflated pricing, I won’t be using this company or any company that recommends him for future electrical work.”
-
“I’ve been working with Jim Lenard of Lenard Electric and I couldn’t be happier. Construction projects can always throw some unexpected curveballs, and you really need someone you trust and know will stand by their commitments. Jim absolutely delivers – he’s exactly the kind of partner you want on a project like this.”
-
“Lenard have been fantastic to work with. We’ve used their services repeatedly over the past 20 years on numerous projects, and we’ve always been really impressed with their professionalism and the consistently high quality of their work. I wholeheartedly recommend them.”
-
Lenard Electric has consistently provided us with high-quality work, and we’ve been really impressed with their communication and the fair prices they offer. As a licensed contractor in the Twin Ports area, we appreciate their professionalism and reliability.

Jim Lenard’s response was incredibly disappointing. I contacted him for an estimate on adding electric baseboard heaters to my duplex, but he provided a very broad range of $5,000 to $8,000 without even taking the time to understand the scope of the project – like the size of the space. His reply was just “Approx $5000-$8000 Have a great day,” and frankly, it felt completely dismissive. Because of this, I’ve decided not to use his services and won’t be recommending him to anyone.

“Overall, the installation was really well done – the new panel was clearly labeled afterward. My only concern was the initial confusion when the workers arrived; it wasn’t immediately apparent they were there on behalf of Lenard Electric.”
