  Overall, Belknap Electric did a solid job with our electrical installation. The inspector approved their work, and the panels look fantastic and are functioning perfectly so far. However, there were a couple of minor issues that we addressed quickly. Initially, the installation deviated slightly from the plans, but the electrician corrected it promptly. We also had a code concern regarding running cables without fasteners in the attic, which they acknowledged and rectified immediately. Communication was excellent – Optimum was easy to reach and answered all our questions along the way. The only downside was the very short notice (just half a day) they gave us for the installation itself. Also, Minnesota Power’s misplacement of paperwork caused a slight delay in the final activation, but Belknap Electric quickly took care of it for us. We’d recommend Optimum, but it’s worth keeping a close eye on the agreed-upon price, materials, and installation details outlined in the paperwork and plans. report abuse

  Overall, I’m really pleased with the solar panel installation through Optimum, especially with Marshall’s help. He handled everything from coordinating the initial assessment with Minnesota Power to submitting the rebate application – he got it in just before midnight on April 1st, and thankfully we were one of the lucky 75 to receive it. Belknap Electric did a fantastic job with the installation itself, getting everything set up in about a day and a half. We’ve been consistently generating around 24-25 kWh per day over the past month, which is great! report abuse

Despite a bit of a wait in Duluth for the permit, the system was installed quickly and it’s already generating electricity – we’re really excited to see how much power we get during the summer!   I have to say, I was really impressed with Optium. I looked at a few solar companies before choosing them, and their willingness to work with my specific needs and make changes to the system really stood out. But what truly gave me confidence was their partnership with Belknap Electricians – a company with such a long and respected history in the industry. The installation itself was fantastic; Belknap’s team was incredibly efficient and got everything done in a single day. Optium handled all the behind-the-scenes stuff perfectly, making the whole process completely stress-free.
