“Working with Root, specifically Zeke, has been an absolute game-changer for our new home build. We’d initially gone with a design/build company that promised a custom home, but quickly realized we were getting a more standard, semi-custom design – which was really frustrating. We were searching for someone who truly understood our vision, and that's when we found Root. Zeke completely nailed it. He took our initial ideas and transformed them into an even better design, really honoring our inspiration. He’s incredibly collaborative and has listened to every single detail we’ve had to say throughout the entire process. He’s even coordinated with the builder and our interior designer, taking care of absolutely everything. Honestly, working with Zeke has made what could have been a really stressful experience incredibly exciting and we’re so thrilled with the unique home we’re building.”

“I can’t recommend ROOT architecture and, specifically, Chad, highly enough. Honestly, their design work is just stunning – they’re truly talented artists. I’m a general contractor myself, and I reached out to Chad for mentorship as I was starting my business and navigating becoming a new dad. He’s been incredible, really taking me under his wing and helping me develop into a more effective contractor. Because of his guidance, I was able to grow my business enough to then hire ROOT to design my own home. From the very first design, we were blown away! Working with Chad has been a complete game-changer for me, and it’s allowed me to provide for my family in ways I never thought possible. He’s a genuinely generous and supportive person, and if you’re considering ROOT, you won’t be disappointed – they’re a fantastic team.”

“I can’t praise Zeke and the Root team enough – they truly went above and beyond for us. Zeke designed a fantastic home that completely exceeded our expectations. What really stood out was his incredible ability to listen and truly understand what we were looking for. He really valued our opinions and worked closely with us to bring our vision to life. As first-time homeowners, we felt completely supported, and Zeke patiently answered every single one of our questions throughout the entire building process. It was a genuinely phenomenal experience.”

“I can’t recommend Root and Zeke Freeman highly enough. They were fantastic to work with – truly focused on delivering high-quality design while also being incredibly mindful of budget. What really stood out was their expertise, particularly their ability to handle the complexities of projects in Denver, especially those involving Landmark Preservation regulations. It was a pleasure collaborating with them.”

“Zeke was fantastic to work with on our new home project in the historic district. His deep knowledge of the local regulations, particularly with the Denver Landmark approval process – which can be incredibly complex – was invaluable. He really helped us create a stunning design that beautifully blends modern elements with the established character of our neighborhood.”

“I’ve had the pleasure of working with Zeke and his team at FJ Progressive Builders on a few projects, and I can honestly say they’re fantastic. They’re incredibly responsive and professional, and I especially appreciated their expertise navigating the unique challenges of working on historic Landmark Design projects. I wholeheartedly recommend them.”

Overall, I was left disappointed with the final design. I hired him to create my permanent home and provided him with clear specifications, including a preference for a building under 2,500 square feet. While the design is certainly attractive and incorporates current trends, it completely disregarded my stated requirements. The building is actually 5,000 square feet, a significant deviation from what I asked for. It seems he prioritized his own design vision rather than fulfilling my specific needs. If you’re looking for a design that closely follows popular trends, he might be a good fit, but if you have particular preferences, I’d suggest exploring other options.

“Working with Root Architecture has been fantastic. Mr. Freeman is a really knowledgeable and helpful owner – he’s got a great understanding of building codes and the permitting process, and he’s always been responsive and patient, especially when things get complicated. He really goes the extra mile to research and find the best solutions.”

“Zeke and his team were fantastic to work with – they really listened to our ideas and brought them to life beautifully in our new home. We’d definitely recommend Root and would absolutely work with them again.”
