  “Mike Comer did an absolutely fantastic job with my pool project. He was incredibly professional – honest, punctual, and really friendly. Honestly, it felt like a huge undertaking to me, but he handled everything so smoothly and efficiently. What really stood out was his calm and pleasant demeanor; it’s so refreshing to work with someone who’s genuinely good-natured. He not only filled the pool area perfectly, but he also beautifully laid down the grass seed and stones along the walkway, making it look like it was always designed that way.   I can’t thank Comer Construction enough – they truly saved Christmas for my family and so many of our neighbors. On Christmas Eve, we had a sudden water main break, and we were frantically trying to get buckets and prepare for the inevitable shut-off. I went to bed around 10pm with no idea what the next day would hold, expecting everyone to be with their families. Then, around midnight, I heard the sound of construction trucks and was filled with such relief! They worked tirelessly, fixing the road and getting our water back on – and they stayed out there for hours. It was incredibly noisy, but honestly, I didn’t care. I just wanted to have water in the morning. I’m so incredibly grateful to the Comer Construction crew and their team for sacrificing their Christmas Eve to help our community. I really wish I’d gone out to thank them personally, but I’ll be forever grateful for their kindness. report abuse

  “I had a really positive experience with Comer – the people on the phone were fantastic, and Mike was especially easy to deal with. I needed a good amount of fill dirt to level a spot for a swingset, and they were incredibly flexible, delivering until I had exactly what I needed. I was particularly impressed with their driver, Bo. He was a true professional, carefully maneuvering the truck around my existing swingset and trees. He got the dirt exactly where I wanted it, which is fantastic news for the kids – they’ll be thrilled when the area is level and they can finally start swinging! To top it all off, Comer was cheaper than all the other local companies I contacted. I’ll definitely be calling them again soon for screened topsoil.” report abuse

  “I’m writing to share a frustrating experience with Comer Construction. While my car was parked nearby, one of their dump trucks hit a stone which caused a significant crack in my vehicle’s side. I spoke with Tim about the damage and, unfortunately, he explained that since the truck wasn’t carrying a load at the time, they weren’t going to cover the repair costs. I’ve attached pictures of the truck – Xt2504 – taken at 9:12 am on South 83rd, showing the damage on the driver’s side.” report abuse

  “I was really frustrated with my experience trying to get topsoil from this company. I contacted them multiple times – calling every day for a week and sending emails – but it was incredibly difficult to get a helpful response. While one of the women I spoke with was very nice and tried to assist me, she repeatedly passed me along to the guy who was supposed to handle the order, even going so far as to get him on the phone herself. He seemed annoyed by my questions and wasn’t very knowledgeable. When I explained my needs for a raised bed, he actually laughed at me! Ultimately, I went with Wirtz & Daughters because they were so much more efficient. Kelly at Wirtz & Daughters quickly confirmed my calculations, provided a quote, and scheduled a delivery – all in about five minutes! It was a completely different experience than what I had with this company.” report abuse

  Overall, this was a really well-managed operation. The crew demonstrated a strong commitment to safety, consistently adhering to the established procedures for trenching and excavation. I was particularly impressed with Comer’s Safety Director – they clearly have a solid understanding of construction safety and health, and it made a real difference.   I was really concerned by the driving I witnessed near Nutley, East Sussex. It was incredibly reckless – the driver was driving too close, then attempted an overtake which nearly clipped my car. There seemed to be a complete lack of consideration for other road users, and it was a very close call. It’s clear that the driver needs to learn to drive with more care and respect for others on the road. report abuse
