I’m really frustrated and disappointed with my experience. I was promised a $10,000 grant through a partnership with Lumaco Agency to help with the cost of a solar panel installation on my roof. I was heavily encouraged to go ahead with the installation based on this promise. However, once I started asking about the grant, they started blaming each other and completely lost me in a confusing web of explanations. Ultimately, they admitted they never actually promised me that money. Now I’m stuck with the solar panel and a broken promise – please be very cautious when dealing with Lumaco Agency and similar offers.

“I was really pleased with SES back in 2018 – they handled the design, permitting, installation, and inspection of my rooftop solar system flawlessly. Everything was completed on time and to the agreed-upon specifications, and the system’s been running smoothly for the past three weeks. However, it’s incredibly frustrating now, in 2022-23, that I’m unable to get a response from customer service. It seems like their success has become a challenge, and it’s a real shame because technically they seem capable.”

Overall, SES did a good job getting our solar panels installed back in 2020 – the sales rep was fantastic, and the installation itself went smoothly, though we did miss out on some of the earlier federal incentives. We did have one microinverter fail fairly early on, but they responded quickly to fix it. However, since then, the service department has become really difficult to reach. They’ve stopped communicating with us entirely; the old 3G connection on the inverter is outdated, and we desperately need to switch to Ethernet to properly monitor our system. It’s a simple fix, but I’ve been emailing and calling for almost a year with no response. The only time I’ve gotten any kind of acknowledgment is by looping in our original sales rep, and he can only offer vague assurances. Because of this, I can't recommend SES to others and I’m now directing friends interested in solar to other local installers like Celestial.

Overall, this was a pretty positive experience, especially considering the value we got for the panels themselves. The installation went really smoothly, and we appreciated the good communication from the team during that process. However, the biggest issue was the service department – it seems they’ve been understaffed, and it took a *really* long time to get someone out to resolve a problem. We waited six weeks for a technician, which was quite frustrating.

Overall, the installation itself was well-done, but my experience with this company was incredibly frustrating. I was aware of potential delays with my Powerwall order, but the lack of communication from them was appalling. It felt like getting through to anyone was a major battle. Then, halfway through the installation, the installer called in sick, and instead of a straightforward update, they just kept sending replacements who couldn't complete the job. What started as a two-day project stretched into over a week with absolutely no communication. Now I’m dealing with a service issue and after numerous calls, I’ve heard nothing back. They clearly have skilled installers, but their communication needs a serious overhaul.

Overall, the installation of the system was really positive. We had it up and running almost two years ago, and the technical work – the panels, the electrical setup, and the inspections – was done exceptionally well, creating a clean and reliable system. We’ve only encountered a few minor issues, like a loose wire and a communication problem, but the team quickly and efficiently resolved them. We’re getting the expected energy production and are thrilled with our $6.02 monthly power bills! However, I have to say the landscape repairs completed at the end of the installation were disappointing and didn’t meet our expectations.

This was an incredibly frustrating experience, and frankly, I’m appalled by how this company handled my situation. I signed a contract with the clear understanding that solar panel installation wouldn’t begin until my home renovation plans were finalized. Despite repeated assurances from both the salesperson and the project manager that panels wouldn’t be ordered until after a site survey, they proceeded to purchase a significant number of panels – far exceeding what was outlined in my contract – without my consent. Following delays due to the pandemic, I was forced to cancel my renovation plans and, consequently, the solar installation. When I requested to cancel, they attempted to keep my entire deposit and demanded an additional $1500, claiming they’d already purchased the panels. Their justification was based on fabricated claims and a blatant disregard for the contract, which explicitly states that materials wouldn’t be purchased until a site survey was completed. They offered me only two options – complete the project or forfeit my deposit – and presented a completely misleading picture of events. They sent an order acknowledgment for 94 panels, claiming they were for their inventory, and offered a flimsy piece of paper with my name on it as proof of the purchase. The project manager refuses to return calls and insists he’s the only person I can speak with, effectively trying to gaslight me. It’s clear they’ve been dishonest and untrustworthy. I've provided numerous emails detailing the timeline and inconsistencies, but they've ignored them entirely. This company demonstrates a severe lack of integrity and accountability, and I strongly advise against using their services.

“I’ve been a customer since 2018, and the initial installation went smoothly – the system has continued to work well. However, I’ve been incredibly frustrated with the lack of response regarding a significant roof issue. I first reported the leak back in December 2021, and it’s now early March with absolutely no communication or appointment scheduled. It turns out a squirrel had gotten into the panels and caused the damage, but I still had to wait for the solar technicians to remove the panels before a roofing contractor could even look at the problem. Now, it looks like squirrels might be returning, and I’ve been trying to get someone from the service department to schedule critter guards, but I’ve received no response in over a week – it’s incredibly disappointing and I’m worried about further damage when it rains.”

I had a really frustrating experience working with SES. They were fantastic until after we signed the contract, and then communication completely disappeared. Initially, they promised a 60-120 day timeline for project completion, but things quickly went off track. After just three months, they only provided a basic design drawing, even though it was still pending company review. They then unexpectedly told me they needed additional drywall work, pushing the completion date out significantly and demanding I agree to new terms without explanation. I rejected those changes and requested cancellation, but it's been over three days since I sent the cancellation notice, and I still haven’t heard anything back. To add to the issue, the loan company needed SES’s approval to pull back a portion of the deposit, and they’re only responsive after I’ve escalated the matter. It feels like they’re simply overpromising and underdelivering – a competitive price and a reasonable timeline were cited to get the contract signed, but it’s been a nightmare ever since. It’s incredibly disappointing, especially since Co-op chose them.

“I was so impressed with SES – they really went above and beyond to help my family through the whole process. Their team is fantastic, and they were incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. The design was brilliant, the installation was perfectly practical, and I honestly couldn't have done it without their expertise!”
