I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience with this company. As a new pool owner, I scheduled an opening over a month ago, and the whole process has been a complete mess. Initially, things seemed okay – Jeff was helpful and explained the process, promising a confirmation call the night before. But then they stopped mid-job, claiming they couldn’t get my pump working, demanding over $600 for a new one, which I fixed myself in 15 minutes. Following that, I’ve been passed around to multiple people – Kelly, Greg, and Christine – all of whom were unable to give me any concrete information or a realistic timeline. They repeatedly promised to call back, but I’ve waited for days with no communication. It felt like they were deliberately avoiding scheduling a firm appointment. Ultimately, they cancelled my appointment on the day, citing a lack of staff, and the explanation felt like an excuse. I’m left feeling completely frustrated and unsupported, and now I’m starting my pool opening from scratch with a different company. It’s clear this company doesn’t value its customers or reliably fulfill its commitments.

“I couldn’t be happier with the service we received from Midwest Pools. Kyle was fantastic – truly going above and beyond to get our pump and filter issues resolved before Father’s Day weekend. He and his team installed a fantastic new filtration system, and Kyle even stayed until 8:30 pm on Friday to ensure everything was completed. He followed up several times to check on everything working perfectly, and Abraham even came back out to address a small problem quickly. It was incredibly caring and dedicated service – we really appreciated their outstanding effort!”

“Midwest were fantastic to work with – a genuinely positive experience.”

“I was so relieved to find a company willing to tackle the repairs on my 22-year-old fiberglass pool – Scott was the only one who wouldn’t let it be ruined. It turned out the original installation had been done terribly, and Scott took the time and care to get it right this time. It did take a little longer than initially estimated, which I completely understood given the problems with the first install, but I knew he was doing everything properly. And I have to say, Artistic Concrete did an absolutely fantastic job! Francisco and his team were incredibly prompt and hardworking, and they left the whole area spotless.”

“Scott, Randy, and Brian have been fantastic resources for me. They’re consistently available to answer my questions and really helped me work through all the different ideas I had for the pool – they’re a genuinely knowledgeable and helpful team.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Midwest Pools! From the very beginning, they were incredibly responsive and took the time to answer all of our questions. The team was so friendly and easy to communicate with – they really made us feel comfortable throughout the whole process. Honestly, the finished pool area is absolutely stunning, especially the stone fire pit and the huge boulders for seating. It’s truly a backyard oasis, and I’m still amazed every time I step outside. We got it installed in mid-August and were swimming by Labor Day, which was fantastic!”

I was incredibly disappointed with my experience working with this company. While the sales representative was fantastic – responsive and delivered a really promising plan – things quickly fell apart once the project started. I hired them to be the general contractor to take the hassle out of managing subcontractors, but I ended up spending weeks chasing them down for updates and scheduling. The entire project took three months, far longer than the initial two-week estimate. Adding to the frustration, the subcontractors themselves were unprofessional, and the fence contractor was particularly rude and disrespectful. Bringing this to Midwest’s attention didn’t get me anywhere; they seemed to be dismissing my concerns, even suggesting a family connection was involved. Ultimately, despite the pool being installed, this was a completely disorganized and frustrating experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this company.

“I would strongly advise anyone in Michigan considering a pool installation to proceed with extreme caution when dealing with Midwest. Frankly, once they have your money, you’re essentially at their mercy. I’ve had a really frustrating experience with them, and it’s clear their priority is profit over customer satisfaction. Specifically, I purchased an automatic pool cover for over $8,000, and it’s completely failed me. The ropes have snapped three times in four years, costing me $500 each time to repair. They haven’t been able to explain why this keeps happening, and they immediately demand a credit card to even *look* at the problem. I ended up contacting the manufacturer, Cover Pools, who sent an installer who was appalled by the poor installation – it was shockingly done wrong. Now I’m facing a $1,000 bill to fix what Midwest and the initial installer got completely wrong. They’ve ignored my calls – I’ve made six in the last week, including speaking with Scott – and simply told me it's my issue. Sadly, this is the kind of experience you should realistically expect from Midwest.”

I’m incredibly disappointed with this company’s service. After our pool was installed, we had major issues with the UV sterilizer – they simply couldn’t resolve the problem, and it went completely unused last summer. It wasn't until the end of November, after one of my dogs fell through the ice, that they finally addressed it. Now, at the end of May, they’re refusing to return our calls to open the pool, and my kids are really missing out. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this company – you’re better off finding a more reliable and responsive business.

Overall, our experience with this company has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. We started with such high hopes, particularly after they quickly installed the pool – a 15x37 foot structure – and completed the site grading in just one day on June 4th, 2020. However, things quickly went downhill. It was concerning to see them essentially selling our dirt to a neighbor, and there were some delays with the electrical and gas work, though we understood those could happen. The biggest issue has been the complete lack of communication and follow-through. We’ve been waiting weeks for the concrete, and we’ve never received a concrete start date – the story about their contractor’s backlog due to COVID just hasn’t seemed credible. Frankly, it’s been over a month of unbelievable stories and a constant change in updates. To add to the problem, we’ve barely heard from anyone from the company since we signed the contract, and communication is only initiated by us. Thankfully, Kyle has been a huge help, keeping the pool from turning green and consistently responsive. At this point, we’re paying to maintain a largely unusable and unsightly pool. It’s a real shame because the initial installation was impressive, but the lack of communication and progress has made this a very negative experience.
