  “I was really pleased with the initial work – the guys gave me a fair quote, showed up on time, and the driveway looks fantastic. It was a good price and the company was great. However, unfortunately, the job deteriorated significantly. We had it done in October and just last week, we noticed a really thin spot, less than an inch, and it’s completely torn up. I’ve tried contacting the owner multiple times with no response at all. It’s incredibly frustrating to have to fix something like this after paying $6,000 for the job. I had to redo about three by three feet of the driveway myself because of the poor quality – it peeled up immediately. Seriously poor workmanship.” report abuse

  I hired Lovell Asphalt Construction to resurface my driveway, and unfortunately, the experience has been incredibly frustrating. Initially, I noticed a small puddle forming at the seam where the old concrete met the new asphalt, and when the owner’s son dismissed this as normal due to water spraying during construction, I became concerned. After some rain, this small puddle quickly grew into a significant problem – a 15-foot wide, 1-inch deep pool of standing water. This wasn’t an issue before they started the work. Beyond this, the grading was completely wrong, creating a slope that directed all runoff toward the middle of the driveway instead of away from the house. The asphalt was also too high relative to the concrete, causing water to pool and eventually seep into the seam. Things went from bad to worse when they tried to fix the problem. Instead of addressing the fundamental issues with the grading and leveling, they essentially dug a rough trench through the middle of the driveway, ruining the appearance and, crucially, failing to resolve the drainage problem. On a third visit, they made things even worse by cutting into the concrete pad. Despite my attempts to work with them to find a proper solution – either a full refund or a complete re-do of the job – they refused to take responsibility and continued to make ineffective, and ultimately damaging, attempts to address the issue. Now, we’re left with a visually unacceptable driveway that’s created a serious drainage problem, and it’s nowhere near what we paid for. Frankly, it’s a disaster. I strongly believe their claims of “100% customer satisfaction” are completely misleading, and the photos clearly demonstrate a lack of quality workmanship and professionalism. report abuse

They were incredibly responsive and efficient, and the team was friendly and fair with their pricing. They quickly quoted and completed our driveway replacement and addition next to the garage – it looks absolutely amazing! We were so impressed we actually asked them to do another project, and it turned out just as well as the first. My brother used them for a similar job and had the same great results. The pricing was really reasonable, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the finished result. What really stood out was his proactive approach – he even followed up to address a potential issue with a puddle forming after the rain, ensuring it wouldn't become a problem with ice in the winter.   “I was really disappointed with my experience. I’d been away caring for my seriously ill mother and was so relieved to finally get help with a service. However, the owner was over an hour late, and wasn’t wearing a mask despite the high COVID numbers. When I politely asked about social distancing, he just laughed and waved me off, treating me differently than his husband. Then, the scheduled service was delayed again due to a truck issue, and he didn’t communicate with me at all. The final straw was when they arrived while I was rushing my dog to the vet, and instead of helping, they blocked my exit and got argumentative, insisting he’d been on time. Ultimately, they decided not to complete the job because I needed to leave – it was a particularly hot and wet day too, which added to the frustration.” report abuse
