  “I absolutely have to recommend Willoughby Construction and Consulting – they were a lifesaver for us! My husband and I recently bought a house in Boonsboro that needed quite a bit of work, and we unfortunately had to let our initial contractor go. Willoughby stepped in and did an absolutely fantastic job renovating our kitchen, painting the whole house, installing a brand new shower, and even building a beautiful bump-out over the fireplace with built-in shelves.   Willoughby Construction did a fantastic job remodeling my mom’s basement, including adding a full bathroom. It was a little tricky coordinating everything from out of state, but Alecia was a lifesaver! She kept me constantly updated with texts and pictures, and she was just a genuinely pleasant person to work with. The whole team was incredibly patient and helpful, especially with my mom – they took the time to answer all her questions and were so considerate.   Overall, we’ve been incredibly happy with Willoughby Construction and Consulting since we moved to Hagerstown. We’re new to the area, having spent 37 years in Rockville, and were looking for a manageable, single-level home. While the 1949 Cape Cod needed some updating, Willoughby did a fantastic job getting it ready for us. They were recommended through Home Advisors, and we’re so glad we went that route. We got at least three quotes, and Willoughby was consistently the most competitive. They handled the interior painting, completely revamped our hardwood floors, cleaned and waterproofed our basement, and even installed three new basement windows – all with excellent responsiveness and a great price. We were especially impressed with the quality of their work. Beyond the initial renovations, they’ve been a huge help with our plans for the future, including hauling away debris from the demolition, recommending our flooring supplier, and even suggesting ideas for a potential addition. Plus, they were recommended by our pest control company through Home Advisors, which speaks to their good reputation in the Hagerstown community.   This was a really frustrating experience. The work was consistently late, often not even showing up for scheduled appointments. Worse, the installation itself was faulty, leading to a significant flood. After that, the company was incredibly unresponsive – we had to constantly chase them for updates, and they offered only a vague apology when parts broke down within a year. The delays stretched out for nearly three to four weeks, and overall, it felt like they were more concerned with avoiding negative reviews than actually providing reliable service. report abuse

  “I’m incredibly disappointed with the service I received. I called multiple times – at 11:20 am, 11:30 am, and again at 11:40 am – but never got a helpful response or an answer to my questions. It’s concerning that the address provided was incorrect, and ultimately, this poor experience may have cost us a significant deal worth $100,000.” report abuse
