  Gary is fantastic – he’s always been so helpful whenever we’ve needed to rent a truck, and he’s a genuinely great guy. The trucks themselves are always in excellent condition and run really well, which is why we keep coming back to Hwy 55 Rental. report abuse

  I’ve been renting equipment from this place for years, and while I’d generally been happy with their service, my last experience was really disappointing. I rented a concrete saw and, to my surprise, used up almost a sixth of the blade’s total length. They charged me nearly $500 for this, and I questioned whether I was being charged for the entire blade – they said it’s standard practice to rent out the whole thing. It felt like they were prioritizing making a huge profit off one customer rather than offering a fair price. I won't be renting from them again. report abuse

  Overall, I had a fantastic experience renting a 20ft enclosed trailer from Hwy 55 for my long-distance move. It turned out to be a really smart and cost-effective solution – driving the trailer back empty was significantly cheaper than renting a U-Haul there. The staff at the rental desk, during check-in and check-out, were incredibly helpful and made the whole process super smooth and easy. To top it off, the trailer was in excellent condition and they provided us with two spares, which gave us real peace of mind for the 3500-mile journey. I’d definitely recommend them! report abuse

  I rented a walk-behind floor grinder from this company, and unfortunately, it was a really frustrating experience. The initial set of blades didn't work at all, and while they replaced them, it quickly became clear there were serious issues – the guards were missing and the under guard was broken. Bringing in my shop vac didn’t even make a difference, and by the time I got home with the new blades, they were already jammed up. Honestly, with a finished house, the mess would have been overwhelming, so I didn’t even attempt to use the grinder. When I returned it and explained the problems, they seemed completely dismissive of my concerns. I wouldn’t recommend going with this company – it felt like they just wanted to get paid and weren’t concerned about providing a functional product. report abuse

  “I was really impressed with Hwy 55 Rental. I was dreading a long wait for my lawn mower to be fixed, but they got it done in just two days!   Overall, it was a really positive experience. Gary is a fantastic manager – he clearly knows how to look after his customers. However, the front counter staff member could use some improvement; she was quite rude. Despite that, I’d definitely return. report abuse
