“I recently went through a really frustrating experience with FEMA incorrectly designating my property as flood-prone, and I wanted to share my positive experience working with a company that really helped me get things sorted. I spoke with Kevin, and he was fantastic. He took the time to listen to my concerns and made me feel like he was truly on my side. He quickly got the ball rolling, including coordinating with EGLE to get the necessary elevation survey completed. Ultimately, we were successful – we won the dispute and got our property removed from the flood zone thanks to a Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA). My advice to anyone facing a similar situation is to meticulously follow FEMA’s requirements, making sure to submit all requested documents promptly. Once FEMA acknowledges your claim, you’ll receive a claim number and an elevation form to share with your surveyor. Then, it's your responsibility to quickly update your bank and insurance company. Because you’ve likely already paid for flood insurance, time is of the essence – delays can mean losing reimbursement funds. If you’ve already started the process on FEMA’s website, I strongly recommend reaching out to Kevin and his team; they expertly guided us through the entire process, from the survey to receiving the LOMA.
