  We hired Scapes to address a water pooling issue in our backyard, and unfortunately, the whole experience was incredibly frustrating. We initially researched several companies and chose Scapes based on their good reputation and the impressive work we’d seen. However, once the work started, we were really concerned about the level of effort we were seeing. The crew seemed mostly focused on sitting in their truck while the actual work was being done in the back yard, and it felt like they weren’t fully engaged with the project. We tried to let it go, but it felt like a significant investment with minimal progress. Things went from bad to worse when we were told the project was underestimating the work and we needed extra black dirt – this came as a surprise, especially since we hadn't received any prior warnings. It felt like they were simply hoping the initial work would be acceptable. After paying for additional dirt, a major windstorm blew away the straw and dirt, leading to patchy grass growth. By the time we could really assess the grading, it was nearing winter, and the problem persisted. Now, we’re back to square one, having to hire another company to fix the issue Scapes initially agreed to tackle. We’ve tried contacting Scapes repeatedly, but haven’t received any response – it’s been a complete waste of time and money. We chose them based on their reputation, and we’re left with no results and a significant financial burden. report abuse

  Overall, we’re really pleased with the landscaping work done around the playground. They focused on creating shade with the trees and bushes, which look fantastic and are thriving. They also took care to level out the areas where the trucks parked and seeded the ground – it’s already starting to look much better. report abuse
