I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience with Do-Well Remodel. From the very beginning, things went wrong. While Megan Dowell seemed pleasant on the phone, she was incredibly rude and dismissive when she came to my house. She constantly questioned me about things I didn’t understand and had a really unpleasant attitude. The whole process was frustrating – she never actually went into the job site (which was upstairs) and barely let her husband, who was doing the work, speak. Communication was also a huge problem. They were consistently unreliable, arriving at different times than scheduled without any warning, and it caused a major disruption, especially because I’m currently pregnant and high-risk and we’d been sleeping in the living room. To make matters worse, one of their employees arrived sick and left after an hour, but even that wasn't addressed properly. Ultimately, they just stopped showing up, seemingly too tired to finish the job. Now we’re stuck finding another contractor to complete the work, and they’re refusing to offer a refund, which feels completely unfair considering the lack of progress.

“I couldn’t be happier with the work Do-Well did for us! They handled everything – removing our old carpet and installing beautiful vinyl flooring in the office, plus building and installing handrails on our front porch steps. Will was fantastic; he was incredibly responsive, always on time, and kept us informed every step of the way, even when there were some unexpected delays with the materials (which wasn’t their fault, of course). He was so meticulous and did a truly excellent job, and he was surprisingly patient and understanding with our busy, chaotic house and even our kids and dog! He really went the extra mile to creatively solve some challenges with the handrails to make sure they fit perfectly. The finished product is absolutely sturdy and gorgeous – we’ve already recommended Do-Well to everyone we know, and we’re definitely planning to use them again for our next project!”

Do-Well Remodel in Lansing, owned by Megan Dowell, has left me incredibly frustrated and feeling completely disregarded. I hired them for a ceiling replacement, and the experience has been plagued by delays, evasiveness, and a refusal to address my concerns. It started with a seemingly straightforward quote—a binding one, surprisingly—sent without even a site visit, despite my request for a consultation. When Will Dowell arrived, he identified loose insulation and requested a full demo, but things quickly spiraled out of control. After a series of pushed-back deadlines and unexplained absences from the crew, the job was still far from complete. The crew was frequently unreliable, and Megan Dowell seemed more interested in deflecting blame than actually solving the problems. She was particularly dismissive of my requests and attempted to shift responsibility onto me for potentially negative reviews. Most concerningly, they refused to provide proof of their insurance, citing my concerns as a reason not to cooperate. Ultimately, the job remains unfinished, with significant amounts of insulation still in place and no clear path forward. They're now trying to charge me an additional $1000 for work they claim wasn't done, and I'm stuck with the added expense of having to pay someone else to remove the insulation they initially failed to remove. It’s clear Do-Well Remodel is prioritizing avoiding negative feedback over delivering a quality service.

“We were so pleased with Will’s work replacing our interior doors. The whole process was incredibly smooth and well-organized, and they kept us updated throughout. They arrived on time, worked efficiently, and completed the job on the same day – the doors look fantastic and the quality is excellent. We’d definitely recommend them and will be sure to contact Do-Well Remodel again for any future projects!”

Honestly, I can’t recommend Will and Megan and their company enough. They were fantastic – incredibly reasonable with their prices, super friendly and easy to work with, and really considerate of our schedule. Seriously, they’re amazing people, and I’d highly recommend them without hesitation.

Overall, we were incredibly pleased with the partial basement remodel Do-Well Remodel did for us. They really knocked it out of the park! We went through a lot of hassle getting estimates – we contacted a dozen contractors in the Lansing area, but only three actually showed up. Do-Well’s estimate was fantastic; it was very clear, well-explained, and broke down the project and costs perfectly. Will and David were also fantastic – professional, kept the space tidy, and made the whole process so much smoother. We definitely plan to use them again for any future renovation projects.

“I was really pleased with my experience contacting Do-Well Remodel. They responded to my initial inquiry quickly and sent someone out for an estimate within a week – and they even provided a written copy. It’s always great to work with friendly people, and the husband and wife team were particularly welcoming and helpful.”

“We were absolutely thrilled with the work Do-Well Remodeling did for us. They were incredibly responsive and helpful, especially when we had a last-minute emergency – they really went above and beyond. Plus, their price was fair and they were just a fantastic, professional, and friendly team. We’ll definitely be using their services again!”

“J., I just wanted to say Do-Well absolutely knocked it out of the park! The quality of their work – from the flooring to the bathrooms and kitchen – was fantastic, and honestly, the price was unbelievably good. They went far beyond what we expected, were so friendly and patient, and really took the time to do a great job. My family and I are incredibly grateful for their services, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone needing work done – they’re truly more than just good!”

“We were so incredibly grateful for the work Megan and Will did to replace the flooring in our basement after a sump pump failure caused a flood during the lockdown. It was a really stressful situation – our small house meant the basement was where our kids played, I worked from home teaching dance, and we did all the laundry. We needed a solution quickly! Megan kept us updated every step of the way, and Will went above and beyond to get the job done efficiently. We especially appreciated his thoughtfulness in creating shoe covers for our infant, who has a compromised immune system – we weren’t expecting that, but he really made it work. Overall, we’re thrilled with the result. Our kids now have a fantastic play space, I have a comfortable home office, and the basement is now a space we genuinely love spending time in.”
