  Honestly, the whole experience was incredibly frustrating. I sent over a punch list as expected, and the owner’s representative showed up immediately with tools, ready to start work without even discussing a price or a quick site visit – just like any reasonable contractor would. When he started working without any prior agreement, I sent him away. Then, the owner called, completely furious, claiming I’d wasted his time and money. It’s just unacceptable to start work like that and then demand payment at the end. It felt completely unprofessional and disrespectful. report abuse

  I was so impressed with Glen Lake Electric! A tree fell on my electrical service at my cottage, and they responded the very next day. The repair was done incredibly quickly and professionally – it was fantastic. I’d been dealing with a couple of other contractors who were just giving me the runaround, and one didn't even return my call. Glen Lake was a completely different experience, and they’re now definitely the first electrician I’ll be calling for any future work. Seriously, you should give them a call too! report abuse

  “I couldn’t be happier with this service – they’re fantastic! Not only do they do a really thorough and reliable job, but they’re genuinely helpful and willing to explain everything to you. I was really impressed when I needed help installing new thermostats for my baseboard heating system (which is quite different than a standard Nest setup, involving 240V!), and they not just took care of it, but actually walked me through the whole process so I could do it myself.   “I’m really disappointed with the service I received with my Generac generator. The unit, which was installed over 11 years ago, suddenly stopped working, and getting a response was a huge hassle. The technician initially said he’d call back, but I never heard from him. I had to repeatedly contact the service representative from T.C. They were incredibly responsive and quickly diagnosed a series of serious installation errors that could have been incredibly dangerous – even a fire hazard! Honestly, it was shocking. I usually try to support local businesses, but this experience made me realize T.C. is the only company I’d trust with my generator; their long-term, factory-trained technicians are clearly much more reliable.” report abuse

  Glen Lake Electric was fantastic – truly a pleasure to work with. We needed quite a few electrical upgrades done, including installing a Tesla charger in our garage, a new 200 amp panel, and adjusting our connection to the main power line. Dave and his team were incredibly efficient; they arrived early, got everything completed in a single day, and the price was very reasonable. We actually found them by their billboard near Traverse City and I’m so glad we did! From the initial call to the final completion, the service was outstanding, and we’re completely satisfied. We’re definitely going to be using them for any future electrical projects – we’re already planning our next job with them, installing a Generac generator! report abuse
