  I’m incredibly disappointed with the experience we’ve had with Dostie. We chose them to build our family’s new home, and it’s been a truly frustrating process. From the start, they significantly underestimated the build time, taking almost two years instead of the promised nine to ten months. Things started going wrong immediately – they postponed our closing at the last minute because the gas line hadn’t been connected, and then we’ve been dealing with a long list of unresolved issues. Despite numerous calls, Dostie just keeps passing us off to the contractor, and they rarely show up to address the problems. We’re still waiting for them to fix bedroom and bathroom doors that don’t close properly, and materials they sent to repair shelves have been sitting in our garage for months. To add to the issues, our backyard floods during heavy rain, and they’re refusing to address it because we didn't bring it up before closing. It’s shocking to see how things have changed since their older, positive reviews – it’s clear Dostie needs to step up and deliver on their promises. report abuse

  “Unfortunately, we had to cancel our plans with Dostie Homes. Rising interest rates and their lengthy building process made it impossible for us to move forward. We requested some flexibility with the initial deposit, but they were completely inflexible and essentially told us to make better financial choices. Ultimately, we ended up going with DR Horton. While Dostie claims to excel in customer service, we found other builders to be significantly faster, deliver higher quality work, and were much more approachable. It seems some smaller companies can prioritize profit over a positive customer experience.” report abuse

  We’re incredibly disappointed with our experience building with Dostie Construction. After five months, we’ve only managed to complete the initial Zoom meetings and design discussions – absolutely no foundation work or structural elements have been put in place. We were originally told it would take nine to twelve months, and it’s clear that timeline is significantly off track. Unfortunately, our experience has been compounded by a lack of responsiveness and support from our point of contact, Laura Snure. We lost a $5,000 cancellation fee, and despite requesting a partial refund, she informed us that the owner, Mr. Dostie, was unwilling to reconsider. Her dismissive response, suggesting we’re simply frustrated by a "bad business decision," was frankly unacceptable. We’d also like to note that our experience was largely positive, thanks to the superb work of the design coordinator. However, due to significant delays and a difficult working relationship with Laura Snure, we strongly advise potential clients to expect a potentially lengthy build – possibly a year and a half – when working with Dostie Construction. report abuse

  Sam was fantastic to work with – genuinely professional, incredibly patient, and always super responsive to our questions.
