  “Overall, my experience with Coastal to build this addition has been a bit of a mixed bag. The initial design phase moved along reasonably well, though there were some hiccups with timelines and communication that we ultimately resolved after needing additional permits. However, the construction side, handled through Coastal Synergy Construction, has been significantly slower than expected. The start-up was particularly slow, and their coordination with the subcontractors hasn’t been ideal. I was seriously considering finding a different GC, and after a final meeting, they promised a completion within six weeks, even creating a schedule with a start date just two weeks away. Unfortunately, it’s now three weeks past that date and construction hasn’t begun. I’m really hoping things improve quickly and that their promise will be kept.” report abuse

  Honestly, I’m incredibly disappointed with Coastal Engineering. I hired them to provide a certified letter for some exterior work on my deck and a small beach box addition to my home – a relatively straightforward project for a 1,200 sq. ft. house. The whole process was frustrating and felt completely unprofessional. They initially sent a few pictures, but then Coastal Engineering contacted the town inspector without even talking to me first. I later spoke with Carlos, the company president, who raised serious concerns and told me it would require significantly more time and money to get the letter. I asked for a detailed list of the problems they identified, but never received one. Then, I hired a second engineering firm who thoroughly inspected my home and, finding absolutely no issues, produced the necessary certified letter within 24 hours. Needless to say, I received an invoice from Coastal. It felt like they were just trying to take advantage of customers, charging a substantial fee for a simple site visit with no intention of actually providing any legitimate services. It’s clear why they aren’t BBB accredited – their practices are simply unacceptable. report abuse
