  “We had an incredibly disappointing experience buying our home from Laporte Housing back in 2004. They were very pleasant during the sales process, but once the deal was done, they seemed to lose all interest in addressing any issues with the house. We quickly discovered a number of serious problems. We ended up having to replace the entire roof at our own expense because they’d used staples instead of nails and left over 50 rusty staples sticking out – it was causing leaks throughout the house. There was also significant rot above the bay window that we had to fix, and the siding was a mess; the wood was cut incorrectly and overlapped, creating bumps under the shingles. Even the simple things, like the front door and bay windows being noticeably crooked by two inches, were completely ignored. Despite claiming a ten-year warranty, they never followed up or returned our calls. Honestly, we strongly advise anyone considering a home from Laporte Housing to build their own house or explore other options. It’s clear they stop caring once they've received your money, and a new roof shouldn’t need replacing in just five years – it’s completely unacceptable.” report abuse
