  Paul and Denise M. in Monona were absolutely thrilled with the work Barlow Builders did on their 1950s home. They really transformed the space, adding a fantastic two-car garage and a beautiful family room that seamlessly connects to their kitchen – it’s a huge, open area they spend most of their time in. The addition also included a practical laundry room and bathroom, all done to their specifications. Brad did a wonderful job listening to their vision, and the final result is stunning. He expertly blended the new construction with the existing home, even matching the rooflines. Beyond the addition, they also had Barlow Builders update the entire exterior of their house with new siding and shingles, giving it a completely fresh look. Even the new driveway has held up perfectly over the last six years! Paul and Denise say Brad is incredibly reasonable, honest, and always kept them well-informed throughout the process – he’s friendly, dependable, and easy to talk to.   Overall, our experience with Brad was quite frustrating. We hired him to replace two doors and two basement windows in our 110-year-old home, which has unusually tall ceilings and required custom-ordered components. It took him nearly four months to actually start and finish the job. Unfortunately, he didn’t accurately measure our front door, and it arrived a foot too short. While Brad was a pleasant guy, the quality of his work was only fair, and we ended up needing him to revisit the site several times to make corrections and adjustments. Ultimately, we had to bring in a local handyman to complete the final repairs. report abuse

  Barlow Builders did an absolutely fantastic job renovating our deck. They completely gutted the old structure, replacing the boards and railing with composite decking and rebuilding the stairs – it looks incredible! They were incredibly efficient, finished the project on time, and, importantly, left the whole area spotless when they were done.   Brad Barlow was fantastic to work with on two separate projects for us. He really went above and beyond – he was incredibly courteous, meticulous in his work, and always thought through every detail. He even turned potential challenges into exciting problem-solving opportunities, which we really appreciated. We were so impressed that we asked him to install two particularly tricky windows on our church’s bell tower in Verona, and he absolutely nailed it! Given the tower’s prominent location on Main Street, it was crucial that the installation look perfect, and he delivered exactly that, despite the significant difficulty of working on a church roof with those tall windows. He really took the time to understand exactly what we were hoping for and offered some fantastic suggestions that we really appreciated. We wanted to be involved, but Brad was happy to step in and handle a few things himself, which we really valued. We also had some lingering insulation problems from a previous contractor, and Brad went above and beyond to resolve that for us. Everything was completed on schedule, and the price was incredibly reasonable – honestly, a little bit below what we expected.
