“My experience with Homeworks was incredibly frustrating and, frankly, a complete disaster. We hired them for a heat pump installation, and while the initial quote and the reviews we saw seemed promising, things quickly went wrong. They used a subcontractor who only spoke Portuguese, making communication incredibly difficult, and the Homeworks team never stepped in to help. We ended up with heat pumps from two different manufacturers – Gree and Bryant – due to a massive miscommunication. The installation itself was shockingly poor; they put one unit in a ridiculously distant location, resulting in tubing that’s over 12 feet long and completely inadequate airflow. They tried to fix it, but it was still terrible. To add to the problems, they accidentally damaged our ceiling, and when we asked them to repair it, they just slapped on some plaster and claimed they weren’t obligated to do more. As winter arrived, we discovered the system was wildly inefficient – turning the heat down to a low temperature caused the rooms to overheat, and our electric bills shot through the roof because the thermostat was incorrectly linked to the temperature in the unfinished attic. It cost us a fortune to get a proper HVAC group to diagnose and fix the issues, and they estimated it would take $10,000 to $20,000 to fully correct the shoddy work. We ended up paying $45,000 for a system that’s a complete mess. Honestly, I feel completely scammed and I strongly advise everyone to avoid Homeworks – especially don’t trust the people offering MassSave deals. It was a terrible experience and I really don’t want anyone else to go through what we did.”

“Thomas, Owen, and Jovannie did a fantastic job with my installation. They were really professional, explained everything clearly, and were incredibly thorough. Plus, they left the area spotless – I really appreciate that! I’m already looking forward to seeing the energy savings.”

“I was really disappointed with the roof vent installation. I was initially told it would be a standard flashing job, but when the crew returned, they’d completely removed my existing roof cap to install a ridge vent. This resulted in them damaging my roof cap and surrounding shingles – I think they might have slid around on the roof. There were three open nail holes in the roof cap, and one shingle was completely missing. I’ve contacted them five times and haven’t received a single call back to discuss how to get this resolved.”

“I just wanted to send a huge thank you to Manager Nelson for taking the time to come out and walk us through the next steps for the insulation. He was really clear and professional, and we’re really looking forward to getting the rest of the work done perfectly. The team – Jack, Fred, and Adam – were fantastic too! They did a brilliant job yesterday, working so carefully and responsibly, and they were all really friendly and easy to talk to. We’re really pleased with the whole experience.”

It’s really impressive how skilled they were for such a young group. They were incredibly efficient and, thankfully, on time. I was lucky enough to be home to see them working so hard, and I really appreciated their dedication.” – Sheila Keith.
