  Overall, the experience with Pioneer was mixed. They were professional – they arrived on time and the initial price was fair. However, the sealer didn’t adhere well to our existing asphalt, absorbing it almost immediately, and we ended up needing more patching compound and additional sealer in several areas. What was really concerning was that the sealer was coal tar based, which we hadn’t been informed of. We discovered this ourselves and learned that coal tar sealers can release chemicals that are harmful to wetlands and potentially contaminate well water, which we have on our property. I was disappointed that Pioneer didn’t offer us a choice of sealer types – it seems SealMaster, for example, predominantly uses asphalt emulsions. I appreciate them addressing the crack repair without charging extra, which is why I’m giving them four stars, but I believe transparency and offering product choices would have significantly improved the experience. report abuse

  I’m incredibly disappointed with this company. They completely failed to deliver on their promises, never showed up for the job, and consistently left my wife frustrated with constant phone calls and delays. It felt like we were constantly being passed around and ignored. After months of waiting, they never even bothered to call us back. I’ve heard similar complaints from other people in town, and I strongly recommend avoiding them – there are much better options available. report abuse

  “I’ve been working in construction for almost 30 years, and I’ve had quite a few driveways sealed over the years. But honestly, the job these guys did on my driveway in Sturbridge was by far the best I’ve ever seen. They were incredibly thorough and professional – the attention to detail was outstanding.   I was incredibly disappointed with this service. They initially promised to complete the job on March 25th, but then made a series of excuses and ultimately rescheduled for Easter, April 1st, adding an unexpected $400 to the cost. Their lack of professionalism and disregard for my time was completely unacceptable. It felt like a scam, and frankly, the owner’s inappropriate behavior towards my wife was the final straw.
