  “I can’t recommend this tool store. My experience was really frustrating – I went twice hoping to buy a chainsaw and each time I was completely ignored. There just weren’t enough staff members around to help, and I ended up waiting over half an hour each time because they were constantly on the phone or busy at the register. It was particularly bad on Saturday before Christmas with only three employees working. I definitely won’t be returning.” report abuse

  I had my snowblower serviced there in the fall, spending almost $300, but it turned out to be a really frustrating experience. After the first snowfall, it was running terribly – weak power and constantly stalling unless I used the choke. It was clearly a carburetor problem, and when I took it back, they told me it would take six weeks to fix, like it was no big deal. Honestly, they didn’t seem to take responsibility for their initial mistake, and I wouldn't recommend going there for repairs. Customer service just wasn’t a priority for them. report abuse

  I was really impressed with Northern Tool – they completely saved the day! I recently bought a new set of wheels for my riding lawnmower, but unfortunately, the hubs were the wrong size. Thankfully, after returning them, the team was able to order the correct rims for me, though they weren’t certain they’d be available. They were so helpful and quickly mounted new tires onto my existing wheels. Huge thanks to the service tech who helped me out – I wish I had gotten his name! report abuse

  I was really disappointed with the semi-trash pump I purchased. I bought it as a new, clearance item, but upon inspection, it was clearly used – there was junk around the impeller and a significant oil leak from the main seal. Honestly, I was shocked and frustrated, especially considering it was sold to me as brand new. It’s just unsettling to think about what this pump has been through. While I did get a small discount, it wasn’t enough to make up for the poor quality. I’m worried about the oil leak and that the warranty will be expired by the time I actually need it. I’m not planning on buying from them again. I appreciate that the technicians took the time to examine the pump and assured me it was working, but I'm not confident in the product's long-term reliability. report abuse

  “The checkout process could definitely use some improvement – there were issues with charging for two items and trouble with charging to my account. They also didn’t seem to have a good handle on what was in stock. However, I appreciated their help bringing the goods to the car and assisting with loading them.” report abuse

  My son was stuck on the side of the road with a truck problem, and I was able to quickly get him help. I stopped at Northern Tool and grabbed a tow strap and a pin clevis shackle – just what I needed to get him off the highway and safely to a repair garage. They were perfectly equipped to handle the repairs. report abuse

  “I was really disappointed with my experience. My 2018 Honda mower was in for repairs over a month ago, and I received absolutely no updates on its progress. When I finally picked it up today, the issue was still unresolved. While Bill, the store manager, was incredibly helpful in dealing with me, it’s clear the mechanics themselves need more training to properly diagnose and fix these types of problems.” report abuse

  Overall, this is a solid place to shop for tools. They have a good selection of Milwaukee tools, and you can definitely find some great deals if you do a little research beforehand. The prices are competitive, though they vary a bit. The staff were also helpful, so it’s a worthwhile place to check out. report abuse

  “I wanted to give a huge shout-out to John in parts! He was incredibly helpful in finding the right hub assembly for my trailer, and went above and beyond by giving me some great installation tips. Seriously, he saved me a ton of time – I didn't even realize I needed a grease gun for the job, and I really appreciate him pointing that out!” report abuse
