  Paul and Julie had an absolutely fantastic experience building their lake house with Everest. They’d heard great things about them and were really impressed – Chad, Lisa, Brad, and the whole team were so friendly and helpful, especially since they were building from out of state. They consistently praised the excellent communication they received, with quick responses to all their questions. The project finished on schedule and without any major problems, and any minor issues were addressed promptly. Overall, they were thrilled with the quality of the workmanship and the attention to detail, and they’ve already received lots of compliments from their guests about their beautiful new home.   We absolutely loved working with Everest Custom Homes – we hired them back in 2021 to build our lake home and detached garage, and we’ve recently commissioned them again! Living 600 miles away made it crucial for us to find a builder we completely trusted and who communicated exceptionally well. Chad was fantastic – he really helped us narrow down our property search, develop a design that perfectly suited our needs and style, and, most importantly, keep us within budget. We’re thrilled with the quality of the work, and that’s why we didn’t hesitate to bring them back in 2024 to build a second detached garage with a bonus room.   “I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience working with Everest. Initially, Scott was fantastic – he was really helpful, meeting us at different lots and guiding us through everything step-by-step. However, once we paid the hefty $5,000 design deposit, the entire service completely changed. We’d agreed to start building the following summer, but then we heard nothing for seven whole months! It was frustrating and unsettling to be completely ignored. We took our concerns to the owner, and he validated our feelings, but ultimately, it seemed like his company was responsible for the poor experience. Instead of fixing the problem, he just released our design plans so we could take them to another builder – refusing to return our deposit. Honestly, it felt like they were only interested in making a quick profit. It was a truly horrible experience, and I would strongly advise anyone considering working with Everest to look elsewhere. There are plenty of other builders in the area who treat their clients with respect.” report abuse

  Honestly, the design process felt very similar to what others have described – a bit frustrating, to be frank. You’re investing a significant $5,000 just to be ultimately told you can’t utilize the design you’ve worked so hard on if you choose a different builder. And on top of that, they operate with an allowance-based pricing system and aren’t willing to break down the costs of any individual tasks, which really lacks transparency. report abuse
