“This situation was incredibly concerning. The crew was operating gas-powered sanders inside the building, with all doors leading into the apartment building closed and not open to the outside. When I raised concerns about the carbon monoxide detectors going off, one worker dismissed my worries, simply saying he had a headache and continued working. Ultimately, we had to evacuate the entire building for two hours while the fire department addressed the dangerous levels of carbon monoxide. It’s unacceptable that safety protocols were disregarded, and the crew prioritized finishing the job over the well-being of the building residents – a truly negligent and potentially life-threatening error.”
