  “I had Tom Bauer design my lakehouse several years back, and initially we had a really good working relationship. However, things quickly went sideways when he started adding unexpected expenses, like importing a large quantity of doors from Belgium. This led to a second house project on Overton Lea Rd., which you might recognize as having been featured in a magazine with Hayden Panettiere. Unfortunately, the initial contractor he hired made a series of critical errors, necessitating mediation and a costly resolution. After that experience, I moved forward with Kanner Architects in LA, but even then, Mr. Bauer refused to provide me with promised photographs of the lakehouse or share where it was featured. It felt incredibly frustrating and unprofessional, like dealing with a child. While I’ve since forgiven his overall behavior, I still hold a strong negative opinion of his treatment of the contractor on the lake project – it felt incredibly dismissive. Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend working with him; his judgment seems questionable, like choosing pine for a wood house, and he simply doesn’t seem to prioritize client communication or satisfaction.” report abuse
