  I hired Richard Testa to assess the foundation of my property and receive a certificate for permit purposes. While he initially conducted a site visit and provided a proposal for further drawings, he ultimately failed to deliver the promised foundation certificate, despite repeated emails and payments. It was frustrating to wait weeks for the report, and his lack of communication became increasingly concerning. I’ve updated my review to four stars now that he’s finally issued the certificate, but I’d strongly advise anyone considering his services to ensure you receive the final deliverable before making full payment. report abuse

  “Overall, our experience with this consultant was quite disappointing. While we understood the potential for multiple opinions when considering a significant investment like this house, we received a concerning number of negative responses – roughly two dozen “I wouldn’t buy this house” opinions – without much in the way of practical solutions. We ultimately purchased the property as planned, recognizing that professional consultation involves investment, but the level of support we received felt unnecessarily condescending and lacking in helpful guidance. Consequently, we’ve decided to seek alternative plans for our renovations. We were also very troubled by the billing issue – a double billing that wasn't immediately addressed and the subsequent demand for payment while our funds remained untouched until we raised the issue. While they're issuing a check now, the initial handling of the situation felt incredibly unprofessional and we’re understandably wary.” report abuse
