“I’m really disappointed with my experience with Southern Light Solar. The installation, which happened a couple of years ago, was a stressful process – it nearly missed the deadline for claiming those credits. Despite the deal being finalized months earlier, they managed to get it done just in the nick of time. However, now the system isn’t reporting any production, and I’ve called them four times in two days with no response or callback. Honestly, it’s unacceptable to ignore a customer like that. I went to their business address, and it was just a locked door with a mailbox – no attempt to connect with anyone. It’s a complete lack of basic customer service. I strongly advise against doing business with Southern Light Solar. While I was waiting for a response, I was able to speak with Ryan at Isakson Solar, who, despite using a different solar technology, took the time to listen to my concerns and offer assistance. It’s clear Southern Light Solar doesn’t prioritize its customers.”

“I hired SouthernLight Solar back in April of 2019 to install 36 panels on my roof, and frankly, the whole experience has been incredibly frustrating. There were significant delays – it wasn’t until November 2019 that the panels were actually installed, and then I had to wait another three months until March 2020 for them to connect to the grid. Immediately after that, one section of twelve panels started malfunctioning, and despite numerous attempts to get them to fix it, they haven’t responded to my calls. It’s been a really poor experience, and I’m seriously considering exploring my legal options due to the damages this has caused. They’ve also been slow to send over the paperwork for my smart credits. I would strongly advise anyone considering SouthernLight – specifically, avoid dealing with Alex Doucet and Chris Sheldon; they were good at the sales pitch, but the workmanship was poor and, in my opinion, dishonest.”

I’m incredibly disappointed with Southern Light Solar. We had their panels installed over three years ago and were initially receiving credit on our electric bill until October 2018. However, since then we’ve gotten absolutely no credit at all. We finally got someone out to our property in April 2019, who told us we needed a new meter component, which didn’t arrive until September. Now, it's January 2020 and we’re *still* not receiving any credit. I’ve repeatedly contacted the New Bedford office, speaking with Lionel LaFleur, but my calls have gone unanswered, and their message line isn’t working. I’ve been forced to contact the Massachusetts Attorney General’s office because they’re refusing to address this issue. It’s unacceptable that after three years, they haven't fulfilled their obligation, especially considering we have a 25-year warranty on these panels. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone.

“I couldn’t be happier with the service we received. Chris Sheldon and his team were fantastic – really top-notch. They, along with Tori, Lionel, and David Santos, worked together to create a really thorough design and installation package, especially considering we were transitioning to the Smart Program. David did an amazing job getting the system installed, even with the challenging weather conditions. Throughout the entire project, everyone was incredibly upfront, transparent, and honest, which I really appreciated. If you’re looking for a team that provides excellent value, a professional installation, and truly cares about customer service, I wholeheartedly recommend them.”

“I was really pleased with Southern Light’s work installing solar panels for my Tesla. They were incredibly helpful in assessing my roof and came up with a fantastic solution that was perfectly executed. I’m very happy with the service.”
-
I’m absolutely thrilled with my solar panels from Southern Light Solar – I’ve had them since October 2016, and they’ve exceeded all my expectations. Not only have we eliminated our electricity bills, but we’re also receiving significant SREC credits, which have even surpassed the cost of our new roof and tree removal. It’s been a truly positive experience, and I wholeheartedly recommend Southern Light Solar to anyone considering going solar!

“I couldn’t be happier with this company – they were fantastic from beginning to end. They kept me fully updated throughout the entire 24-panel installation process, and then, incredibly, they responded promptly to a technical issue just a month later, even coming out on a Sunday to resolve it. The whole experience was really smooth, and the 3-year payback period was exactly what we anticipated. It’s definitely the best investment I’ve ever made!”

I’d strongly advise against using this company. I started working with them back in November 2019, and as of July 2020, I still don’t have solar panels. They completely failed to deliver on any of their promises, despite me completing all the necessary paperwork and getting approved for a loan. They didn't even bother to contact the power company or make any real progress on the project – it seems like a scam.
-
“I was really impressed with their service – they explained everything clearly and gave me all the details I needed to really understand my options. I’d definitely use them again when I’m ready to get solar installed.”
-
Overall, I’d definitely recommend Southern Light Solar. They were really responsive to my questions and did a fantastic job with the installation, even if the project took a little longer than originally anticipated.
