  Alan Smith Pools did a fantastic job – we couldn’t be happier with the results! We went with them based on several recommendations from neighbors, and it was clear why they’re so well-regarded. The whole process was incredibly smooth, thanks to the great team led by Ken Rooker. From the start, we really appreciated being able to visit their extensive tile showroom and getting expert advice on choosing the perfect tiles. Every day, Ken kept us updated on the progress via email, and the team was always punctual and left the site spotless. Ken handled all the city inspections and permits efficiently, which was a huge relief. Because of a tight deadline, we needed the pool to be ready quickly, and they delivered on time. Even after completion, they promptly addressed a small issue, and Ken responded immediately. We wholeheartedly recommend Alan Smith Pools – they truly went above and beyond! report abuse

  Honestly, our experience with Alan Smith Pools was incredibly frustrating. From the beginning, the consultation felt good – the project manager seemed really knowledgeable, and we were excited to get started. However, things quickly went downhill. Scheduling was a complete mess; they missed our agreed-upon start date for a whole week without any communication, and then the crew themselves seemed disorganized. There was a near disaster when they drained our pool, and my wife almost caught a major problem. Communication was almost non-existent. We constantly felt left in the dark about what was happening with the project, and even when workers were on-site, they wouldn't even let us know what they were doing. The quality of the work itself was shockingly poor – everything from the mess left in the pool to the botched mastic application and a leaking filter, to them breaking one of our solar lights – it was clear they weren’t paying attention to detail. They even tried to push an acid wash on our pool without fully explaining the implications, and we ended up paying for a service that didn’t actually improve the pool’s condition. We paid a significant amount for this, and ultimately, we wouldn't recommend Alan Smith Pools based on our experience. report abuse

Honestly, after getting several estimates, it was immediately clear I’d made the right choice. They went above and beyond to answer all my questions and address any concerns, and they even proactively followed up. It was fantastic how accommodating they were with our changes, and the regular updates via email kept me fully informed throughout the process.   I absolutely have to rave about Alan Smith Pool Company – they did an incredible job remodeling my pool in 2023. From the very beginning, they really listened to what I wanted and made sure everything was done exactly right. The team was just fantastic; incredibly professional and skilled. They paid such close attention to detail, and truly brought my vision for the remodel to life. I especially want to thank Robert Monroe for his constant communication. He kept me updated on every step of the process and was always so responsive and helpful. It made the whole thing so much smoother than I anticipated. Beyond the excellent service, the quality of their work is outstanding. Everything was done with such care and precision, and I was blown away by the final result. A huge thanks to Robert Monroe, Patrick Jackson, Darren Laue, Rick Speck, and the entire Alan Smith Pool Team – you guys truly transformed my pool into a beautiful oasis!   Overall, our experience with Alan Smith Pools for the pool remodel was really positive, but with a couple of areas where they could improve. The workers and Rob Penticoff, the salesman, were fantastic – the quality of their work was exceptional, and Rob kept us incredibly well-informed throughout the entire project. We’re really happy with the finished result and confident in its quality. However, we were a little disappointed with the project manager’s involvement. It felt like there was a disconnect between his understanding of the project and the communication we had with Rob. We also experienced a few unexpected change orders, and the communication around those, particularly the minor ones, could have been better handled with more advance notice. Despite these issues, we appreciate the team’s efforts and believe that focusing on clearer communication and more proactive management would really elevate Alan Smith Pools’ reputation. report abuse

  Alan Smith Pool Plastering did an absolutely fantastic job – I’d give them a 10+ if I could! They were incredibly professional, and the whole crew was outstanding. We had them re-plaster our pool and redo the coping, and they were so careful to preserve our original tile. The hydro-blast technique they used to remove the old plaster was brilliant, and now the pool looks absolutely amazing. Honestly, the price was a bit higher than we expected, but the quality of their work is definitely worth it – I’d recommend them without hesitation to anyone. report abuse

  “I couldn’t be happier with the work Alan Smith Pools did on my pool. I was so impressed with their reputation – I’d heard fantastic things and received several recommendations from other businesses. From start to finish, the whole experience was fantastic. Darren L. was fantastic at explaining the process and options, and I really appreciated being invited to their showroom to see all the different finishes. I chose a beautiful “crystal blue” sandstone, and I was constantly updated by email about the crew who would be coming each day. What really stood out was the professionalism of the team – each crew was specialized and incredibly cordial. It was amazing to watch them work, really a coordinated effort, especially when they were blending the materials and pumping them into the pool. The final result is absolutely breathtaking, and I want to give a huge thanks to Salvador for the incredible clean-up job he did, completely transforming my property. Darren L. also kept me in the loop the entire time, which made the whole process so much smoother. I wholeheartedly recommend Alan Smith Pools to anyone considering a pool refinishing project – you won’t be disappointed!” report abuse

  Alan Smith Pools did an absolutely fantastic job completely resurfacing our in-ground spa – they even added a beautiful pebble finish, a new light, and replaced all the drains and jets. They also took care of repairing the old benches to the correct height. From start to finish, we were so impressed with the team, especially CJ, our project manager. He was always available, checked in regularly, and kept us fully informed throughout the entire process. It was amazing how attentive and professional they were, treating our project with the same care and attention they’d give a huge job – even though it wasn't a massive one. The final result far exceeded our expectations! We especially appreciated how the crews cleaned up after themselves each day.   Honestly, I’m incredibly disappointed with the whole experience. I was surprised to hear from Allen Smith after reading my initial review, and Darren seemed genuinely eager to make things right, which I appreciated. He followed through on his promises quickly and completely, and the pool looks fantastic now – better than when they started! I really wish Darren had been the one to handle my project from the beginning. However, the entire process was a huge hassle. They didn’t prepare the backyard properly during the demo, causing a massive amount of debris and completely blocking my pool cover. And after the refinish, the pH levels went completely out of control. I even had to invest $2,000 in a monitoring system just to try and fix it, but no one – not Allen Smith, not anyone – seemed to care about actually resolving the problem. It felt like they just wanted the money and weren't interested in providing any real support. My pool maintenance guy, and he’s recommended them to others, strongly advises against using them. It's clear they prioritize the sale over customer satisfaction. report abuse
