He completely transformed our small farmhouse into a stunning, 10,000 square foot home – truly a ‘home for the ages.’ Jonathan is just incredibly professional and meticulous; he paid such attention to detail, from the beautiful crown molding to his deep understanding of the building’s systems, and he worked seamlessly with all of our subcontractors. Fifteen years later, we’re still absolutely thrilled with the house – it still looks brand new! We actually hired him again to design our retirement home in Charlevoix, and he delivered another exceptional design.   “Honestly, we couldn’t be happier with Jonathan Lee as our architect. From the very first meeting at our house, he really took the time to understand what we wanted for our remodel. He walked us through his design approach and listened intently to all of our ideas. The plans he presented were fantastic, and we were so impressed with how he incorporated all of our feedback and changes. He even coordinated everything – recommending a great contractor and working closely with our interior designer, who said he was a pleasure to work with. We were out of town during the renovations, and Jonathan handled absolutely everything for us, even accommodating some last-minute additions we wanted to make. We absolutely love our new home; it’s truly spectacular, and everyone who visits is blown away. We have zero complaints – it’s exceeded all our expectations.” report abuse

We’ve worked with him on two stunning homes – both have been beautifully designed and have even been recognized in national publications for their elegance. He has a truly exceptional grasp of classic architectural styles, and it shines through in every single detail of his work.   Jonathan was absolutely fantastic to work with on our summer home remodel. He really understood our vision – we wanted to honor the historic charm of the 19th-century dance pavilion while incorporating modern living spaces. He listened intently to everything we wanted and consistently delivered exactly what we envisioned. Jonathan’s experience was invaluable; he brought fresh ideas and solutions that our builders hadn’t even considered. Communication was seamless, even though we were located far from his office, and he was always professional, friendly, and a true pleasure to have around.   “Jonathan and his team were absolutely fantastic to work with. Jonathan himself is incredibly diligent and talented, and he always made sure to incorporate our ideas and feedback throughout the process. We’ve commissioned him for several projects – including the lake house and beach house in Northern Michigan, as well as the pool and pavilion in Colorado – and we’re thrilled with the results. What really set Jonathan apart was his passion and knowledge. For our first project, the lake house, he took a really thoughtful approach, walking us through the history of shingle style architecture, even visiting historic homes in Rhode Island and Maine to illustrate the design principles. He truly listened to my particular tastes, especially regarding the stone selection – he went above and beyond, scouting quarries in New York and Quebec to find the perfect slate and stone for both the lake and beach houses. And he didn’t just stay here! He even traveled to Colorado to help refine our pool and pavilion project, which significantly improved the design. I was so impressed with his work at Crystal Downs in Northern Michigan too – truly exceptional quality and attention to detail. Honestly, we couldn’t be more satisfied.   Jonathan Lee did an absolutely fantastic job renovating our family’s lakeside cottage. We’d heard such great things about him, and he completely exceeded our expectations. We wanted to modernize the electrics, plumbing, heating, and air, while also adding a beautiful front porch that blended perfectly with the cottage’s historic character – it was as if the porch had always been there. Guests were genuinely amazed, commenting that “Was this porch here the last time we were here?”! Jonathan really listened to our vision, created some wonderful drawings to illustrate the different options, and guided us through the entire process with his expert knowledge and fantastic taste. He was incredibly patient and generous with his ideas.
