“I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience with this company. From the very beginning, there were issues – a significant delay getting started despite being told I was good to go, and the initial tech walkthrough was shockingly brief, only five minutes, with him immediately telling me I’d need to winterize everything in two weeks without any actual instructions. It was clear they weren’t prepared to properly support the equipment, which, by the way, has a long-standing reputation for being difficult. The salesman, Jack, was also completely unreliable, failing to follow up on several occasions after I paid the bill. And to make matters worse, the service department manager, Tony, was almost impossible to reach and didn’t seem to care about honoring the warranty. They even messed up the warranty itself, and didn’t fully explain it to me. Ultimately, they failed to deliver on their promises, shorted me on promised parts, and even refused to pay the referral fee to the pool tech who recommended them. I ended up having to pay him to fix their mistakes, and I’m still stuck with a faulty control unit. Honestly, I strongly advise everyone to avoid this company.”

Honestly, we were so thrilled with our new solar pool heating system from Aztec! We realized our old gas line for the heater was nearing the end of its life, and it felt like the perfect opportunity to switch to solar. We got quotes from several local companies, and Aztec just stood out – their materials were top-notch, the price was fantastic, and the customer service was truly excellent. The installation was seamless, and now we’re able to enjoy wonderfully warm pool water – we’re talking 90+ degrees – pretty much every day! We wholeheartedly recommend Aztec; we wish we’d gone with them years ago!

“I was really impressed with Aztec Solar – they were fantastic! A storm blew my solar panels loose from the roof, and they responded incredibly quickly, arriving within a few hours to safely remove them. I highly recommend them.”

I’m really disappointed with my recent experience with Aztec Solar. I’ve been a customer for years and they’d previously done a great job with winterization and maintenance. Today, their technician found a missing cap on our solar panel, causing water to run down the roof. I contacted Aztec Solar to arrange for the spring maintenance and let them know about the issue, but the person I spoke with insisted the missing cap would be treated as a repair and quoted me a price of $134 for the initial service plus $22 for each 15-minute extension, and $229 for the combo package. I explained that this didn’t seem fair since no one had touched the panel except Aztec, and they essentially dismissed my concerns, suggesting I go to Sierra Pacific Solar instead. Honestly, up until today I would have recommended them, but this experience felt really dismissive and like they weren't interested in my business.

“I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience with Aztec. We’ve consistently struggled with their customer service – it’s taken an unreasonably long time to get responses and have issues resolved. We’ve had to wait almost five weeks for a simple callback, calling multiple times a week, and it’s been a huge waste of both time and money. Thankfully, we were eventually able to get the service transferred and the problem addressed, but I’m really frustrated with the overall process.”

“We were really pleased with Aztec Solar – they offered a fair price and provided fantastic customer service. From the very beginning, Blythe at the front desk was incredibly helpful and friendly when we first called. They quickly sent an estimator out, and we received our bid within just two days! The whole process was really smooth, and we appreciated them sticking to their timeline, scheduling the installation within a week. The installers were on time, efficient, and cleaned up everything afterward – we couldn't have asked for a better experience.”

“I’d give Aztec Solar a zero – their pricing was absolutely outrageous. I bought a solar water tank from them two years ago, and it’s now leaking. I contacted the installers, but they quoted me a ridiculously high price: $160 for the initial 15 minutes, then $21 for every 15 minutes after that! And a $25 travel fee just for being in Galt. The worst part was the way they quoted the price – it felt incredibly arrogant and dismissive. They clearly realized I wouldn’t be covered by a home warranty, and they seemed to think they’d gotten away with overcharging me. I’m definitely going to find someone else to fix this, and I’ll be taking the whole system out before I pay them a single penny.”

Aztec was fantastic! They were right on time, incredibly courteous, and they quickly resolved my issue. I highly recommend them.

Overall, this was a frustrating experience. While the product itself seemed good and the price was reasonable, the sales guy’s approach was concerning. He insisted on placing the solar panels on the south-facing roof, despite the intense, all-day sunlight and the fact that my artificial grass literally melted there. He focused on “ambient heat” instead of acknowledging the direct sunlight’s superior efficiency. We had a bit of an argument, and ultimately, he tried to get me to sign a document absolving them of responsibility if the pool didn’t heat up. Frankly, it felt like a push to do things his way regardless of my knowledge of my own property. I decided to save money and handle it myself, as I wasn’t comfortable with his demands. I’m giving two stars – a decent price and a good product, but the sales interaction left a lot to be desired.

Overall, the water heating panels are working as intended, and the pool is now heated, which is great. However, the initial design needed some adjustments once a technician took a look at it. It took a little longer than expected to get the system installed, which is typical during the busy season. While the workmanship was decent, I was hoping for a more seamless integration – particularly since I wanted the plumbing to be as hidden as possible. I provided detailed specifications for the roof protrusions, and honestly, the final installation could have been much cleaner if they’d spent a bit more time discussing the layout with me beforehand.
