Honestly, I wish we’d listened to the earlier warnings about New Leaf Homes. We were hoping for the best, but it turned out to be a really bad experience. They have a very inflexible approach – it felt like “their way or no way,” with absolutely no room for discussion or negotiation. The biggest issue was their inspection policy; they only require approval from the city, and if we hired our own inspector, they weren't obligated to address any problems we found. After we ultimately backed out, a colleague of my husband shared a similar story – they described their experience as a complete nightmare, particularly regarding getting warranty repairs. We’re so incredibly relieved that we pulled out when we did.

I’m incredibly disappointed with our experience with New Leaf Homes. We’ve only lived in our house for about four and a half months, and we’ve encountered a significant number of serious issues that they’ve been slow to address. Initially, the ridge cap was left exposed for nearly a month, despite several rain events, and now water consistently enters our garage. They replaced the garage door seal once, but the problem persists. We also have a large, unrepaired low spot in the garage floor that collects water, and the deck stairs are dangerously unstable – they’re completely unsupported and flex with every step. Adding to these problems, the flooring is already separating in multiple areas, and they only partially addressed it before leaving. It’s shocking that they’ve informed us these issues aren’t covered by warranty. Frankly, it feels like they’re prioritizing building as many houses as possible over ensuring quality workmanship. I strongly advise anyone considering New Leaf Homes to explore other builders.

Overall, we were really pleased with our new home built by New Leaf Homes. The quality of the construction is excellent – it’s a very sturdy and well-built house. From the initial stages right through to completion, the whole process was incredibly smooth and easy. We especially appreciated how quickly and effectively Andrew and the team of subcontractors addressed any questions or concerns we had. It was a truly positive experience.

Dan did a fantastic job fixing things in my home – he was really friendly and professional, and a genuinely nice guy to have around.

“After eight years of living here, we’ve unfortunately encountered a recurring issue – consistently poor workmanship from every contractor we’ve hired. It’s been a significant concern, and with so much work needing to be done, it’s clear we’ve invested a substantial amount of money. Plus, seeing all the new, expensive homes being built in the neighborhood makes us think buyers should proceed with caution; the ongoing costs of maintaining a home here can quickly add up.”

New Leaf really knocked it out of the park with the recent home build for my friends in Beloit, WI. They’re absolutely thrilled with their new home, and it’s clear New Leaf did a fantastic job from start to finish.

Okay, here’s a natural-sounding evaluation based on the text: “As a new home, it’s completely normal for some nails to pop out over time. However, the sheer number of them throughout the house felt really concerning and suggests a very cost-conscious build. I was also really disappointed with the communication – the receptionist was difficult to reach and didn't seem to uphold the home buyer’s warranty properly. When we pointed out a job that hadn’t been marked as complete, they essentially dismissed our concerns and insisted the work had already been noted. Adding to the frustration, some of the siding had already come loose and there was no communication about when the contractor would address this issue.”

Overall, we were incredibly pleased with New Leaf’s work remodeling our basement. From start to finish, they were professional and really took the time to understand exactly what we envisioned. They kept us fully in the loop throughout the entire project, and the finished result was absolutely stunning – honestly, it exceeded all our expectations for a basement space. We would definitely hire them again for any future projects.

This house needs significant work. We found several issues, including carpets peeling up, two failing light fixtures that were falling from the ceiling, and the furnace and air conditioner stopped working, requiring service calls. There was also no power vent on the hot water heater. Because it’s a relatively new home and these problems have surfaced so quickly, I wouldn't recommend it.
-
This was unfortunately a really disappointing experience. The work was consistently unreliable and quite sloppy, and communication was a major issue – they didn’t seem to follow through on anything.
