  Overall, we had a fantastic experience with SolarUnion. They handled everything – from choosing the right solar system for us to the seamless installation and even the helpful support after it was set up – with such professionalism and ease. We’re really pleased with the system’s performance, and it’s already made a significant difference to our energy bills.   Overall, Solarunion did a fantastic job installing the solar panels on my SPF roof – the work itself was really professional and I experienced no issues with the installation. However, the project was significantly hampered by poor communication and lengthy delays, particularly during the permitting process. It took a full seven months – from signing the contract in September 2022 to April 2023 – to get the permit approved. To make matters worse, on the day of the inspection, Solarunion didn’t send a representative, and I only realized this because I was home. I initially chose them hoping for a quicker process, but their pricing was higher than other quotes I received. While they did offer a small gift card as a gesture, it didn’t compensate for the frustrating delays, especially considering other companies had offered to cover my PGE bills during any significant hold-ups.   Overall, we had a really positive experience with Solar Union. We carefully compared several bids and ultimately chose them because they offered top-quality equipment – really first-rate panels, converters, and batteries – at a competitive price. What really set them apart was their ability to handle our unique roof situation, which was quite complicated, and they were incredibly efficient throughout the whole process, from the initial design and surveys to scheduling the installation, starting just two weeks after we signed the contract. The installation itself took a bit longer than initially anticipated – about five days instead of the expected one or two – but the quality of the work was excellent. We’re also thrilled with the energy production – we’re generating ten times more power than we’re actually using, which should translate into significant savings. We appreciate their good communication and the post-service support guarantees. The only minor hiccup was a delay in getting final City approval due to the City’s review of battery backup systems, but all in all, it was a good experience. report abuse

  “We were really pleased with Solarunion – we used their services twice. First, in 2020, they installed over 20 solar panels on our new roof, and the whole thing went incredibly smoothly. They were great to work with, communicative, and their prices were very competitive. The team showed up on time and kept the project on schedule. Then, in 2021, we decided to expand the system with another 10+ panels and upgrade our electrical panel. Unfortunately, the project took longer than expected because PG&E was the bottleneck, but Solarunion did a fantastic job of keeping things moving forward. They were always responsive and waiting for PG&E’s approval, and we’re thrilled to finally have both projects completed!” report abuse

  Solar Union was fantastic to work with – from the very beginning, the estimate and initial meeting were incredibly helpful and informative. We ended up choosing them based on their competitive price, and we’ve been thrilled with the results. It’s been three years now, and we’re seeing significantly lower utility bills, so we absolutely made a great investment. I haven’t needed to utilize their service yet, but I’ll definitely update my review if anything changes.   Okay, here’s a natural-sounding evaluation based on that text: “I’d really urge anyone considering Solar Union to proceed with extreme caution. My experience was incredibly frustrating, and I feel they weren't upfront about some key potential issues. While they’re clearly focused on getting you to sign a contract, they don’t seem to prioritize your long-term concerns. Once the system is installed and not yet connected to PG&E, you’re essentially left in the dark – quite literally. They didn’t disclose the possibility of a 6-9+ month wait for PG&E to upgrade the neighborhood transformer, which ultimately rendered my $30,000 investment useless. I was told this could happen occasionally, and unfortunately, it did. Worse still, the salesperson disappeared once the problem arose, and getting any support was impossible. And don’t even get me started on their billing department; they sent invoices with interest charges before even sending the initial bill, making payment incredibly difficult.” report abuse
