I’m so incredibly disappointed with my experience with AC by J. We scheduled a $49 tune-up for our hot water heater, and it ended up costing us a shocking $370! To be clear, we had hot water before they arrived. The technician told me he was going to do a “test,” but he didn’t explain that this test could actually *cause* us to lose hot water unless we paid a huge sum to fix a problem that wasn't there to begin with. It felt like our hot water was held hostage until I paid an exorbitant amount. I’ve called the office four times trying to get this resolved and hear about their bait-and-switch tactics, but I’ve been repeatedly promised a call back from the plumbing manager – and it's now been a full month with no response. Honestly, their lack of professionalism and customer service is appalling. I will absolutely not be using them again, and I’m telling everyone I know to avoid them as well.

“The technician was very friendly and arrived promptly. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to get the connection working with our phone, which was the main reason we purchased this unit. While we can still use the unit, it’s frustrating that the phone control didn't function. I’ll need to contact Honeywell directly on Monday to resolve this, and that’s not ideal. I wish there had been more troubleshooting steps attempted.”

Honestly, we were really frustrated with the service call. While the technician was pleasant, the whole thing felt completely ineffective. For an $89 call, we expected some actual work to be done, but it was just a visual assessment – no fixing of the problem whatsoever. They basically just suggested we spend an additional $300 to snake the issue, and then even higher – potentially $8,000 to cut into the wall for an estimate. It felt like a huge waste of time and money.

Honestly, I’m incredibly disappointed with the experience we had with AC by J. The installation took over eight hours, starting at 9am and not finishing until nearly 7pm, and there were constant issues – problems with the York condenser, the thermostat, and several different stages of the installation. I chose AC by J based on our previous relationship, but the quote was $1000 higher than a much more experienced competitor. Now, I really regret that decision. I’m worried about whether the unit was properly installed and if we'll continue to have problems. It was frustrating that no one from management reached out to check on the team or offer support. However, I’m really pleased to say that AC by J has since stepped up and completely resolved all the initial issues with a fantastic, detail-oriented approach. They were incredibly responsive and committed to making things right, and I appreciate their efforts to rebuild our trust.
