We’d gotten several recommendations from locals, and they were fantastic at delivering gravel to our very remote property. They even set us up with a temporary area for our trailer while we waited for the road to be completed – and amazingly, they finished the road a full month and a half ahead of schedule!   “I recently got a quote from Perkins for some rock and sand for a project at my Lakeside home, and I was really impressed. They had the best price compared to the other two companies I contacted, and the team was fantastic – so friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. As a former property manager with years of experience dealing with rock and sand suppliers, I can honestly say Perkins is one of the best I’ve ever dealt with.   “I was incredibly disappointed with this experience. The salesperson was consistently rude and, frankly, unprofessional. Worse, they quoted me a price over $1,000 for what seemed like a very basic and low-quality truck and trailer combination. It felt incredibly pushy to be asked for my credit card information before they could even give me a final price.” report abuse

  “I was really disappointed with my experience using Perkins. Getting the delivery scheduled for the end of July was a long process, and with the monsoon season here, they set the delivery window for 11am to 2pm. The driver didn’t even ask about our unimproved road or the surrounding area before driving nearly four miles to drop off the transfer – it was completely unnecessary. To add to the frustration, it started raining right after he left, and we ended up paying over $400 for a $350 delivery. I definitely won't be using Perkins again, and I’ll be going with Western next time. They really need to improve their communication and consider local conditions when scheduling deliveries, especially during monsoon season.” report abuse

  “Look, Perkins, I’m just not going to do business with you anymore. It seems completely unreasonable to charge a minimum fee for picking up materials from your yard – I only needed a specific mix of rock loaded quickly, and the distance was minimal. It felt like you were trying to take advantage of me. Frankly, it’s a frustrating experience, and I won't be back.” report abuse
