  Don Thurber and Silver Spring Landscaping completely transformed my backyard. For 34 years, I’d been dealing with the aftermath of a devastating wall collapse from 1940, and frankly, it was an eyesore. Everyone told me the job would be incredibly expensive and require heavy machinery, but Don didn’t just fix it – he created something truly beautiful. He meticulously used every single stone from the original landslide, recutting and blending them seamlessly with new stone to create terraces that looked like they’d always been there. The whole thing was done by hand, with a team of incredibly skilled stonemasons who spent five weeks perfecting the design. He even addressed the underlying drainage issues and added subtle lighting, details I hadn’t even considered. Honestly, I was blown away. If you're looking for a high-quality result and are willing to invest in a truly stunning project, Don Thurber is the person to call. Don and his crew did an absolutely fantastic job with our grating project – they were professional, thorough, and really took the time to ensure everything was done perfectly. They not only solved the issue of water leaking into our basement, but their advice and the quality of their work before, during, and after was outstanding.   “I was really pleased with Silver Spring Landscaping’s work on my drainage problem. They tackled a tricky situation at the bottom of my hill, installing a complete French drain system and even fixed a broken downspout without any extra charge. What impressed me most was how carefully Don’s crew worked – they navigated tough soil with lots of roots and, importantly, didn’t damage my neighbor’s new plants. The finished result looks fantastic and blends seamlessly with the rest of my landscaping. Honestly, after some bad experiences with less experienced companies, I really appreciated Don’s expertise and the way he managed the job.
