  “Ted and Kathy were fantastic to work with from the start. They were incredibly open and transparent throughout the entire construction process, which was a huge relief. We had some very specific requirements for our new home, and finding those particular materials in Chicago proved to be quite challenging. It was a really long process, taking about a year from the demolition to finally moving in – and to be fair, they did this amidst a global pandemic, supply chain issues, and rising costs. But Ted and Kathy, along with their team, truly created a beautiful new home for us. We absolutely love the neighborhood, and it’s working out perfectly – my wife would say it’s absolutely awesome to finally have our forever home!   Working with ACHB was truly a fantastic experience. We were so relieved to find a firm willing to tackle our unique project – renovating a downstairs unit and addressing a significant structural issue caused by a previous owner’s modifications upstairs. It was incredibly stressful hearing “no” from so many contractors, but Ted and Kathy were a breath of fresh air. Ted’s construction knowledge combined with Kathy’s amazing organizational skills and communication made all the difference. Kathy expertly handled all the permits and city inspections, which gave us complete peace of mind. They did a brilliant job stabilizing the upstairs floor while preserving the beautiful kitchen design and countertop we’d put in our new downstairs unit. My parents are absolutely thrilled with the results – they’re so relieved the structural problem is finally resolved. We got a great price too, and I wholeheartedly recommend ACHB.   Kathy and Ted from America’s Custom Home Builders did an absolutely fantastic job building our dream home in Lincoln Park. A friend highly recommended them, and we were so impressed from the very beginning. Their communication was exceptional, and they offered the most competitive pricing we found. We finished our house on time and within budget – something that’s rare these days – and we absolutely love the result. Kathy is incredibly patient and organized, while Ted is a really knowledgeable and straightforward professional when it comes to construction. They also work with a great team of subcontractors who were always accommodating. We faced some typical challenges with neighbors and the city, but Kathy and Ted handled everything with patience and found solutions every time. Plus, they sourced fantastic suppliers who were reliable.   “We were so thrilled to find a beautiful house in Lincolnwood that perfectly matched our vision, and the quality of the finishes was outstanding. We had specifically hoped for an elevator, but unfortunately, the house we chose couldn’t accommodate one. Luckily, we connected with Ted Lazar and his partner, Kathy Andrews, through America’s Custom Homebuilders. They really took ownership of our project, and despite starting in November with the challenging weather, they completely rebuilt the house – including adding the elevator – within two months! They kept us incredibly well-informed throughout the process, sending regular emails and photos while we were away, and we always felt involved in the decisions about everything from the finishes to the appliances. Ted and Kathy have a fantastic team of skilled subcontractors, many of whom are originally from Europe, and they consistently delivered top-notch work. Kathy, in particular, was a lifesaver – she was incredibly organized and meticulous with all the details and finances, ensuring everything ran smoothly and we got all the necessary approvals. It was a really complex project, but they tackled it with incredible efficiency and skill.
