  Charlie and his team did an absolutely fantastic job transforming our backyard! Honestly, it was one of the smoothest and most enjoyable home projects we’ve ever had. I was a little hesitant at first, having had some frustrating experiences in the past, but Charlie immediately put me at ease. He really listened to what I was envisioning, even though I didn't have a clear picture myself, and created a beautiful design that tackled some real functional issues like the water pooling and gave us a great extended patio for our spa. He was incredibly flexible, fitting in visits at times that worked for us, and he was so patient answering all my questions. It was amazing how he incorporated last-minute requests, like the lighting. He even kept in close contact with the other contractor working on the electrical – a huge relief! The whole process was completed in just 3.5 days, and they were incredibly efficient and tidy. They were also understanding about holding off on certain details until after our spa was delivered, which was brilliant for protecting our plants. I can’t recommend Charlie and his team highly enough – we’re so grateful for their work! report abuse

  “I couldn’t be happier with the patio Sarah Alton and her team designed and installed for us. Two years later, it’s still absolutely perfect! They really listened to what we wanted and created a beautiful, year-round entertaining space that blends our ideas with their fantastic expertise. The workmanship was outstanding – truly professional and meticulous. And the best part? Everything is still in perfect condition, with not a single paver shifting since the installation.   I’m so disappointed with my experience with Desert Designer. It started off really well – Devin was fantastic from the beginning, incredibly responsive and clear about our landscaping plans. However, things quickly went downhill once he left just before the project was finished, and the owner, Tom, took over. Tom immediately tried to increase our bill despite the agreed-upon contract, and then his crew built a fireplace that violated our HOA guidelines – guidelines Devin had actually provided to us beforehand. When I brought this up, Tom insisted he wasn't responsible and attempted to charge us for the fix. Since then, he’s been completely unreasonable and difficult to reach. I even contacted several other landscaping companies to see if this was typical, and they all stated that if they were responsible for the work, they would be accountable for correcting any mistakes, especially when HOA guidelines were provided. Honestly, the whole experience with Desert Designer has been incredibly frustrating, and I would strongly advise anyone considering them to look elsewhere. report abuse

  “We hired Sarah Alton to help us design our backyard, and things started off promising. She quickly put together some initial renderings and scheduled a meeting to discuss them. While we had a few changes we wanted to make, she offered to do three revisions for $1000, which we agreed to. However, after paying that amount, Sarah stopped responding to our messages, and we didn't receive the updated renderings after about ten days. We contacted her boss, Tom Smith, and he explained that the $1000 would only cover a portion of the landscaping work, a detail that hadn't been discussed or agreed upon during our initial conversations. Ultimately, we’re still waiting for the finished renderings.” report abuse

  Honestly, this was a really disappointing experience. We hired this company for a major backyard renovation, including a water feature and a wall, and it ended up being incredibly costly. Unfortunately, the water feature quickly developed problems, and when I contacted them – which was after the warranty expired – they simply suggested a third-party fountain company for repairs. The biggest issue is the completely flawed design. We now have a significant plumbing leak that’s not only ruining our flagstone and grout, but actively destroying them. I reached out again to get this addressed, but their response was just to say it's out of warranty and that they couldn’t send anyone out to fix it. It’s unbelievable – they didn’t even offer to rectify their own mistake. And to top it all off, my direct representative no longer works there. I absolutely wouldn’t use this company again. report abuse

  “We were extremely disappointed with the work we received from this firm after investing $31,000. Communication was consistently poor, and the quality of their work was far below what we expected. There were significant issues – the site was left in a messy state, we needed them to redo the French drain twice (and had to explain it to them!), and now we’re dealing with a leak in the drip system. They’re promising to fix it within two weeks, but essentially told us to shut off the water ourselves. To add to the frustration, the person we dealt with in the office was often rude and unhelpful. Honestly, we’d strongly advise anyone considering working with this company to read reviews and proceed with caution.” report abuse

  Rob was fantastic to work with – so helpful, patient, and really accommodating with our yard project. He listened carefully to what we wanted and managed to deliver exactly what we envisioned, all while keeping the price reasonable. We’re thrilled with the finished yard, especially the bike path for our son and the veggie garden beds! report abuse

  I’m incredibly disappointed with the patio project we completed for me. We invested $30,000 in a beautiful outdoor space – 800 square feet of Belgard pavers, a barbecue, and a fireplace – and the pavers arrived with significant scuffs that make the whole patio look like it’s 20 years old. I immediately brought this to the job supervisor’s attention, but he suggested we just wait six months, saying the scuffs would fade. I paid the company in full, relying on a letter from Tom Smith, the owner, guaranteeing replacement if Belgard identified a defect. However, the first Belgard representative dismissed the issue, and Tom Smith hasn’t even visited the site to assess the problem. I’m still waiting to speak with a higher-level Belgard representative, and frankly, I feel completely ignored and let down. report abuse
