  I was really disappointed with my time working as part of the yard crew at Brand Safway in Tempe. Initially, I was told my experience would be valued, but quickly realized there were serious safety concerns. Over the first few weeks, I witnessed multiple instances of reckless forklift driving – people speeding with forks up, failing to secure loads, and putting themselves and others at risk. I tried to bring these issues to the crew’s attention, but was met with disdain and treated like I was wrong, as if I didn't know what I was talking about. Then, during a training session on stacking scaffolding, I suggested a simple solution to a problem I saw, but the supervisor reacted incredibly defensively, making a big deal out of it as if I was completely foolish. Ultimately, the unsafe conditions and the dismissive attitude of the team led me to leave the job immediately. To add to the frustration, Brand Safway continued to claim insurance money from my check, creating further complications. I tried repeatedly to get someone to address these issues, but received no response beyond a vague “we’re looking into it.” I’m genuinely concerned about the potential for serious accidents and I hope Brand Safway’s corporate offices will investigate and ensure their safety supervisors are taking these issues seriously. report abuse
