  “I’m incredibly disappointed with this experience working with Carlos Plaud and his team. We completed two bathroom remodels and a kitchen backsplash for Daniel Yuan in Colorado Springs, and unfortunately, it was a really frustrating process. After a month of work, we then spent three months negotiating our labor costs – despite the work already being finished. It was concerning to see tradespeople living on the homeowner’s property, and frankly, Carlos Plaud seemed to actively try to push us around and turn the homeowner against us. I feel we were taken advantage of, and I’m worried this kind of behavior will happen again.” report abuse

  “I’ve worked with Carlos since he was a teenager, and I was the project manager for a remodel he was handling back in 2018. Unfortunately, I quickly realized he had a very questionable approach – essentially scamming clients. I confronted him directly during a meeting with a family he was trying to take advantage of, and he immediately stormed off, threatening legal action against me and the contractors still working on the job. We, along with the remaining contractors, were able to successfully complete the remodel without him. The homeowner was happy with the work, though sadly, the woman who had been our biggest supporter passed away shortly after her dream remodel was finished. What I’ve consistently observed with Carlos is a tactic where he asks homeowners to pay half the cost upfront, claiming the materials will be purchased and held for them. He’ll often buy the cheaper, larger items, then later tell you he’ll get the remaining supplies when space allows. It's a way to essentially build up his business. Honestly, I’d strongly advise anyone considering a project with him to get a thorough background check and possibly even a drug test – it’s a pattern I’ve seen repeatedly.” report abuse

  “We were so pleased with the outcome of buying our son’s house. Unfortunately, he and his friends weren’t particularly careful with it, and it needed some serious work. Thankfully, Carlos and his team stepped in and completely renovated it for us. The quality of their work was fantastic, and we ended up selling the house for $8,000 over our initial asking price – a direct result of their excellent craftsmanship.” report abuse

  Carlos and his team were fantastic! We needed a bathroom built quickly, and he really delivered. He got the supplies and workers on-site the very same day I called, and they worked incredibly efficiently while keeping the area spotless. I especially appreciated how promptly he addressed any questions or concerns I had – he even handled all the necessary permits, which was a huge relief.   “I had a really terrible experience with Carlos Plaud. He misrepresented himself as a licensed and bonded contractor, which turned out to be completely false. A worker under his supervision was even living on the streets and asked to use my home as a place to shower – understandably, I was incredibly concerned as a single mother. When I confronted him, he simply walked away and refused to return my deposit. To make matters worse, I was left with substandard work and had to hire a completely different contractor to properly fix it. I’m very suspicious of the positive reviews I’ve seen – I believe they may be fabricated.” report abuse

  I’m incredibly disappointed with my experience working with Carlos Plaud. He took my deposit and then simply didn’t complete the job. I’ve spoken with others who’ve had similar experiences, including George Alexander/Kakoma, and it seems he’s repeatedly taken money from people without finishing the work. Unfortunately, pursuing my money back through legal channels proved fruitless – he has no assets and is deeply in debt. I strongly advise anyone considering working with him to think twice, as there are many reliable and honest contractors available. report abuse
