  Overall, I was really pleased with the work these guys did to fix a dead outlet in my older rambler. They were friendly and helpful, and the trainee they brought along actually helped speed things up. While the final bill of $400 for the labor and parts was a little higher than expected – it took longer than anticipated to drill through from the basement – I felt it was worth it. However, I definitely learned a valuable lesson about getting quotes. I hired a local electrician without one, and ended up paying $3500 for just 8 hours of work, plus parts. It turned out he installed 13 outlets crookedly and even missed the microwave and refrigerator outlets – he had to return and fix it all. Plus, he didn't even bother to coordinate with my other contractor! I’d recommend going with this larger electrical company; it’s clear that many contractors avoid electricians, so it’s really important to have someone reliable you can count on, especially when coordinating a remodel.
