    My mother recently undertook a huge project – replacing all the flooring in her new home – and unfortunately, it turned into a truly awful experience. She’d used this company before when her father owned it, but it quickly became clear that the new owner wasn’t up to par. The project started four and a half months ago with two workers ripping up her existing floor, but communication was immediately a nightmare. One worker spoke very little English, while the other barely did, making it nearly impossible for my mother to understand what was going on. The next day, a different worker arrived who didn’t speak any English and relied on a Google translator, and he disappeared after just a couple of hours. For a week, my mother was left waiting and wondering, constantly calling the owner who would offer conflicting stories about where his workers were. To add to the frustration, she was given the wrong flooring initially, requiring another trip to order a new selection. The owner was consistently unreliable, sending only one worker to complete the job, and often offering flimsy excuses for his absence. In the end, it took countless calls and my intervention to actually get any work done. Worst of all, the owner tried to take advantage of her by demanding an extra $2,000 without explanation, and it’s clear he wasn’t being honest or transparent. I strongly advise anyone considering this company to steer clear – it’s a stressful, frustrating, and ultimately dishonest experience. report abuse

    Honestly, we had an incredibly frustrating and stressful experience with this company. We were really counting on them to install new carpet for our condo move, and unfortunately, it completely fell apart. They promised the carpet would be in before Christmas, but it never arrived. They kept delaying the installation, told us misleading information, and then even delivered the wrong carpet! To make matters worse, we discovered the warehouse they used was closed until after we moved in – and they didn’t tell us this until we had to find out ourselves.     Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this company. They were incredibly responsive initially, quickly scheduling a visit and giving us a quote. However, after that, we had a really frustrating experience. We repeatedly tried to get updates and were consistently met with voicemail – it seemed like their voicemail system wasn’t even set up. When we finally managed to get through, the owner was consistently rude. They also missed several scheduled appointments and didn't seem to prioritize our project at all.     I had a really terrible experience working with this individual. I put in a significant amount of work on the property, but he drastically underpaid me, to the point where I couldn’t even cover my own expenses. To make matters worse, he was bouncing checks – he’s blacklisted from several banks because of it. I ended up with a negative account balance, and despite arguing with him, I still had to pay an extra $500 to get it back to zero. Ultimately, I only made a profit of $300, which was a complete waste of my time and effort. I wouldn’t recommend doing business with him at all. report abuse

    I’m incredibly disappointed with this company. I hired them for a two-story apartment carpet job, but they completely failed to deliver. They never showed up for any of the scheduled appointments, repeatedly asked me to meet their workers at the building and still didn’t appear. After waiting over six months and paying a deposit, I never received the carpet or flooring. I was forced to switch to a different company after countless frustrating attempts to get this resolved.     Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend Carpet Specialist. Getting a quote was easy enough, but the experience after that was really disappointing. They initially told me it would take two weeks to deliver the carpet, but it ended up taking nearly a month – with constantly shifting promises of “by the end of the week.” They even completely missed the delivery date we’d scheduled. And to top it off, the installer left a huge mess, leaving debris all over my house and driveway, including dangerous staples on my stairs. It was a really frustrating and unprofessional experience, so I’d suggest looking for another flooring supplier.” report abuse

He consistently avoids doing the work himself and then offers incredibly low rates to contractors, which seems unfair and exploitative.
