  “I hired John Scott in 2021 to install a Mitsubishi heat pump, and unfortunately, the experience was incredibly frustrating and ultimately left me with a major problem. While he initially fixed a refrigerant leak within the 3-year labor warranty, the heat pump stopped working again shortly after, and John completely disappeared. He didn’t show up for scheduled appointments and just vanished – a practice they referred to as ‘ghosting.’ After getting another company to diagnose the issue, it was confirmed the heat pump was leaking refrigerant again, exactly as I’d told John. Despite being well within the warranty period, he simply asked me to pinpoint the leak’s location. I’ve kept records of all our communication. Even Mitsubishi, as a Diamond Certified dealer, couldn't reach him, and he continued to ignore their attempts to contact him. Now, I’m stuck with a non-functioning heat pump and facing repair costs exceeding $1500. I’ve repeatedly reached out to John hoping to resolve this amicably, but he hasn’t responded at all. Because of his lack of communication and failure to uphold his warranty, I’m taking the next steps by contacting the Attorney General’s office and the Better Business Bureau. I strongly advise others to avoid using John Scott for HVAC work.” report abuse

  John and his team were absolutely fantastic! We lost heat and hot water in February when our boiler finally gave out, and they were able to get a new one installed the very next day – a huge relief. We’re so grateful for their quick response and the high-quality work they provided. We’d definitely recommend them to anyone needing a boiler or furnace installed. report abuse

  “John was incredible. We had a really awful situation – a frozen and cracked heating pipe flooded our room and garage on a Sunday, and we were completely stranded. We called around to eight plumbers, but no one returned our calls. John was the only one who responded, and he went above and beyond by calling us back even though he couldn’t come out immediately. He even offered to FaceTime with us to walk us through some steps we could take to keep the rest of the house warm and with hot water until he could get here.   “I was so relieved with the service I received! The two young men who did the pipe repair were fantastic – incredibly polite, friendly, and they got the job done really quickly. It’s honestly taken a huge weight off my mind knowing I don't have to worry about frozen pipes with the winter coming up.   “I was really disappointed with this individual. He requested quite a bit of personal information and photos of my system, which I provided, and then I never heard back from him after six days. He didn’t even bother to let me know he couldn’t fulfill the request. Frankly, his lack of communication and responsiveness is unacceptable – it’s definitely not the level of professionalism I expect from a contractor, and I don’t think he possesses the necessary technical skills to go along with it.” report abuse
