  Katie and her team at Invisible Fence of Northern Michigan were fantastic – truly a pleasure to work with. They were so helpful in getting everything scheduled for our new puppy, and Katie always made sure to promptly return any calls. The technician, Kevin, was especially knowledgeable and patient, expertly ensuring our older system worked perfectly with the new receiver and even taking the time to patiently train our energetic Jack Russell.   I’m incredibly disappointed with this invisible fence system. We purchased it hoping it would help keep our dog safe, but it resulted in a frightening and upsetting experience for all of us. Initially, it seemed like a good idea, especially given our lakeside property, but when we deployed it in the water, our 30-pound mini labradoodle was severely shocked. She screamed for a significant amount of time, became terrified to go outside, and started exhibiting behaviors she’d never displayed before – peeing and pooping in the house. It took weeks of treatment, including steroid eye drops, for her to recover, and the whole ordeal was incredibly stressful. We were concerned about her eyesight, and the installation process itself was problematic; we weren’t informed that the cable wasn't buried, and the company’s lack of communication and apparent unwillingness to address our concerns – particularly about the potential for the system to damage the cable – was frustrating. While other people have had success with this fence, we felt it was simply too risky, especially given the potential for serious harm. We’re now opting for a more cautious approach, simply supervising our dog while she’s outside, and we’ll never risk putting the fence in the water again. Honestly, the company didn't seem to take the time to understand our dog’s individual needs or personality, and their agreement focuses on potential aggression issues without truly assessing the situation. It was a traumatic experience, and we strongly advise anyone considering this product to exercise extreme caution, particularly when using it in water. report abuse

  Kevin did a fantastic job with our service call. He really listened to understand the problem with our system and quickly got to work fixing it.   Travis did a fantastic job – the whole process, from planning the installation to the training, was incredibly professional. The dogs are already settling in so well and seem much happier having more space to roam, all while staying safely contained in the yard. I’d definitely recommend him. report abuse

  Overall, we were incredibly pleased with the entire process and the team. The fence itself is fantastic – it’s really given us peace of mind knowing our puppy, Rosie, can safely enjoy the yard. Travis was absolutely wonderful; he patiently trained Rosie and was so helpful and understanding. He really took the time to answer all our questions and work with her until she understood the boundaries. Yes, it was an investment, but we absolutely think it’s worth it to have Rosie safely outside and secure in our yard. report abuse
