I’m really frustrated with the recent road work on my street. I’ve been parking on the street every day, just like many of my neighbors – there were probably 40-50 cars doing the same. To my surprise, there were no warning signs about the work when I left for work on June 13th. However, when I returned, the entire street was blocked with “No Parking” signs, spaced just a few feet apart. It seemed completely excessive, with what felt like 80 signs on both sides of the street. I spoke with a representative from Scott Construction who claimed they’d posted signs last week, but that felt like a lie. Frankly, the lack of communication and the over-the-top signage made me feel like they were trying to avoid any inconvenience. Even worse, neither the Madison Police nor parking enforcement offered any assistance or alternative parking solutions. My initial impression is that this was a poorly handled situation, and I’m not confident that things will improve once the work is complete.

“I’m incredibly frustrated with this situation. I was told my car would be ticketed or towed by the Madison police and parking enforcement, which is completely unacceptable. I also spoke with someone at Scott Construction who confidently stated people had reported seeing signs a week prior – that’s simply not true; there weren't any signs on the block where I park every day. It seems like there’s a pattern of misinformation, and frankly, it's a really concerning and unprofessional experience.”

I’m incredibly frustrated with Scott’s and the way they handled this road maintenance project near my apartment. They put up a huge number of no-parking signs in our residential neighborhood – a place with no street parking – and then completely ignored the issue for three weeks without doing any actual work. To make matters worse, they informed us via email that they wouldn’t be contacting parking enforcement, and wouldn't be issuing tickets, because there wasn't readily available public parking. Then, this morning my car was towed and ticketed for $95! It took me three hours to sort out the details with the towing company, who repeatedly gave me incorrect information. It’s unbelievable that they haven't started the maintenance work, and their communication was completely unprofessional. I’m planning to appeal this ticket in court – I’m absolutely livid.

I’m really frustrated with the lack of communication regarding the damage to my windshield on June 1st. I was driving on 151 when a dump truck – I’m pretty sure it was a Scots truck – threw rocks and cracked my windshield. I contacted Scots about 10 minutes after it happened and filled out a very detailed accident report, clearly identifying the truck as a Scots vehicle. I spoke with a safety lead, who I believe was named Wagner, a couple of times, and he assured me he was reviewing the report. However, I’ve called him repeatedly since then – five or six times – to inquire about the replacement process, but I haven't been able to leave a message because my mailbox is full. I'm extremely disappointed with Mark’s lack of communication and would really appreciate it if someone could contact me directly to discuss this incident and the steps being taken to get my windshield replaced.

Honestly, Madison’s experience with this company was incredibly disappointing. They completed the chip sealing project at the end of June, but the site remains a significant mess. Despite multiple calls requesting cleanup – cones, trailers, and signs – nothing has been done. The quality of the sealing work itself was poor, and the crew and management have been completely unresponsive. It’s now become a problem for the police department to deal with, and I wouldn’t recommend this company.

“It’s great to see them settling in here in Madison – they’ve already been getting to grips with the initial tasks like providing road signs and notices. I really appreciate the quality of their work and the consistent approach they’re taking.”
-
“The road work they did past my house was really rough. It was just a thin layer of blacktop with tar, and they didn’t even bother to roll it down. As a result, it’s caused a lot of damage to my car.”
-
“I’m so pleased with the work these guys have done on our roads – they’re doing a fantastic job! The crew is incredibly friendly and helpful, and the office staff were also really awesome. I couldn’t ask for a better team!”
-
“Honestly, the driving was incredibly reckless. I nearly got my family hit – it was terrifying.”
-
“It was a really professional operation – they handled everything smoothly and with a great sense of expertise.”
