The team who planted our two lilacs was fantastic – they really listened to our preferences and placed the plants perfectly, ensuring the best side faced our yard.   “I really regret my experience with Faltz Landscaping. I hired them to replace a 25-year-old timber retaining wall, and they recommended a stacked stone wall which I initially agreed to. While the wall looked great at first, it quickly began to shift and crumble with each freeze-thaw cycle, ultimately failing completely after just five years. When I contacted Faltz, they essentially dismissed my concerns, saying that failures sometimes happen, and suggested adding drainage – a solution that never materialized. It turned out they hadn’t properly addressed fundamental issues like inadequate drainage or proper construction techniques – things a qualified engineer quickly identified. Now, I'm left with a completely unusable wall and I’m responsible for the cost of removing it and building a completely new one. It was a very disappointing and expensive lesson learned.” report abuse

  “My wife and I were really impressed with Faltz Landscaping. We got quotes from several companies before choosing them, and honestly, the experience was night and day compared to the others. Several companies just listened to our ideas and gave us a quote without any real design or detail – it felt like they weren’t taking us seriously. One company even completely stalled us for weeks before offering a ridiculously inflated estimate. Faltz, however, was completely different. Josie Blumenthal and Ben Brown went above and beyond. Josie spent time sketching our yard, taking measurements, and really understanding our vision. Ben even brought in a drone to get aerial photos and developed a fantastic concept design. It was clear they were invested in creating exactly what we wanted. The whole team was incredibly professional and communicative, and we especially appreciated Ben’s expertise. The finished landscape is absolutely beautiful – it far exceeded our expectations, and we’re so happy with the quality of work and the value we received.   “I’ve been working with Faltz for the past two seasons, and I’ve been really pleased with their work. They planted four fruit trees for us in 2023, and while one didn’t make it through the winter – they’re already taking care of replacing it – the ones that did are thriving.   “I was really pleased with the service initially – the staff helped me get seven 1-gallon peonies planted in my new planter bed, and the two workers were incredibly quick about spreading the mulch. It was done in under 10 minutes, which was fantastic considering I don’t have any tools myself. However, I was shocked to receive a call later asking for an additional $170 for ‘extra work.’ At $85 an hour for two men, that seemed completely unreasonable for such a small job. Honestly, it felt like a blatant attempt to overcharge, and I’ll definitely be taking my business elsewhere – the whole experience was just too greedy.” report abuse

  “We were really disappointed with our experience with Faltz. Back in 2020, we requested an estimate for landscaping and water features, but the estimator simply never contacted us. Then, this year we reached out again about a retaining wall project, and they told us their estimators were booked until the beginning of June, advising us to call back then. Frankly, that felt incredibly frustrating – if they’d just communicated clearly, we could have planned accordingly. But then we were told they wouldn't be available until the end of June, creating a pointless loop of being pushed back. Because of this, we’ve decided we won’t be doing business with Faltz again. It’s completely unacceptable to mislead us like this.” report abuse

  “My wife and I had a really positive experience at Faltz. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, taking the time to understand our needs and offer helpful advice. They were actually really good at steering us away from a purchase that wouldn’t have been a good fit for us. And I was particularly impressed with the manager – she initially misquoted us on a tree, but she immediately corrected the error and honored the original price. Overall, they have a fantastic selection of high-quality landscaping products, which we hadn’t seen anywhere else in Anchorage.” report abuse

  “I couldn’t be happier with Faltz Landscaping – they were absolutely fantastic during the addition project! Kaitlin was a lifesaver; she really took the time to understand my father-in-law’s ideas and managed the whole estimation and permitting process expertly, all while staying within our budget. She was incredibly professional and a great listener. The crew who actually did the work were also top-notch, incredibly skilled and kept the site spotless.   I’m really disappointed with the lack of response I’ve received when requesting a landscaping quote. I’ve called three times over the past few weeks, and haven’t gotten a single return call. The receptionist said they were busy, but it’s 2016 – I expected a simple email or text to management. Because of this, it seems they’re not interested in my business, and I’m especially let down since I was referred to them. report abuse

  “I was absolutely thrilled with the service I received. From the very beginning, they were incredibly helpful in planning my dog’s yard, and they flawlessly executed the whole project – from the rock work and dog-friendly plants to the sod installation. Everyone I interacted with was fantastic, and the crew who actually did the work were truly exceptional. They were so careful, skilled, and hardworking, and I really appreciated the project supervisor checking in daily to ensure everything was going smoothly.
