Daniel was fantastic to work with throughout the entire process of designing our custom home. From our first meeting, we were really impressed with his vision, and he consistently went above and beyond, dedicating a lot of his time to our project – we had nine meetings total, which included a lot of collaboration. He really took the time to walk us through everything, allowing us to thoroughly review the 3D model and even experiment with the interior design. What stood out was how involved he was. We could literally “take the roof off” the model and use it to really understand how the house would fit into the beautiful Hill Country landscape and the incredible views. We even used photos from the site to see exactly what the light would be like in each room. Honestly, we were pretty nervous going into this, having never designed a custom home before. But Daniel’s one-on-one approach, only taking on ten projects a year, and his genuine passion for his work put us at ease. He was incredibly responsive and detailed, answering all our questions clearly and making sure we felt completely comfortable with every single detail. It truly made the entire process feel much simpler and more manageable.

“We’ve been so happy in our new home now for over a year and a half, and I wanted to share how much we appreciate the incredible work Daniel and his team did. We initially met with Daniel for a complimentary consultation, and from the very beginning, we felt completely confident in his expertise. The whole process – from figuring out the budget, to exploring different floor plans and designs, all the way through the construction documents – was handled so smoothly and professionally. Daniel was amazing at listening to our ideas and really bringing our vision to life. He was incredibly attentive and inventive, and he even helped us with the interior design details, making our bathrooms and kitchen truly special. The way the indoor spaces flow seamlessly into the outdoor areas is just perfect. Honestly, our family couldn’t be happier, and we wholeheartedly recommend Daniel – it’s been a real pleasure working with him.”

“Daniel was absolutely fantastic to work with – truly a 5-star architect! From the very beginning, he went above and beyond, taking the time to understand our vision and offering valuable insights as we looked at different property locations. He wasn’t just designing a house; he was collaborating with us every step of the way, using screen shares to bring our ideas to life. We were particularly impressed with the stunning 3D model he created, which really helped us visualize everything from the exterior to the outdoor entertaining spaces. What really stood out was his dedication to a smooth process. He created a detailed budget that gave us plenty of options, and his project management skills were invaluable. He even helped us with the interior design and selections, which resulted in a truly exceptional home – our kitchen and bathrooms are especially beautiful, and we’ve gotten so many compliments on them! It was a pleasure working with Daniel, and we wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a talented and collaborative architect.”

“Working with Daniel Boardman was an absolute pleasure. It was a particularly challenging time to be starting a new home build – with high demand and rising costs – and navigating Austin’s regulations added another layer of complexity. But Daniel really stood out. He offered a fair, flat-rate price, which was significantly lower than other firms we contacted, and he consistently delivered a fantastic service. What impressed us most was his responsiveness and his ability to adapt to the unexpected changes that came up during the project. He truly understood our vision and incorporated every detail we wanted into our custom home. He was incredibly patient and knowledgeable, and my spouse and I were both so pleased with his guidance throughout the entire construction process. We wholeheartedly recommend Daniel – he’s a fantastic architect and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone building a custom home.”

“Daniel Boardman is an incredibly talented architect. He designed a beautiful home for us and my wife in Spanish Oaks, and it’s been the talk of the neighborhood – everyone absolutely loves it! Working with him was a genuine pleasure; he really listened to our needs and created a custom home perfectly suited to our site and our vision. We’ve already recommended him to a couple of friends who are building nearby, and they’ve had just as positive an experience.”

“My husband and I bought a lot with the intention of building our dream home about 18 months ago, and we were really aware going in that building on Lake Travis, particularly with LCRA’s involvement for septic permits, could present some hurdles. We spoke with several friends who’d had custom homes designed in the Austin area, and they all echoed that sentiment. We spent a good amount of time researching architecture firms, and the fees varied quite a bit – anywhere from 4% to 10% of the total construction cost. With our desired quality and design, we were looking at costs between $40,000 and $100,000. Thankfully, we found Daniel Boardman Residential Design, and he was a fantastic experience. He charged us just 2.5% of the construction cost, and his process was incredibly efficient and customer-focused. He created a really detailed site plan and worked closely with our septic engineer to ensure we met all LCRA’s requirements. His construction documents were far more comprehensive and well-detailed than what our friends received from other firms – and they ended up paying significantly more. We’re thrilled to have finished construction, and our general contractor was also really impressed with Daniel’s design and the level of detail in the drawings. Honestly, I can’t recommend Daniel Boardman Residential Design highly enough – he truly went above and beyond!”

“Daniel was fantastic to work with. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely cares about understanding your needs and the specific challenges of our project – particularly with our remodel and the limitations of the existing property and our budget. It was a really complex undertaking, and he skillfully broke it down into manageable phases, with the first one now underway. We really appreciated his perspective and the detailed information he provided, which gave us the confidence we needed to move forward. I wholeheartedly recommend him for any project, big or small.”

“We absolutely adore our new home – it’s truly a dream come true! It perfectly captures the beautiful Texas Hill Country style, and we’re so thrilled with the result. The way the light plays with the wood beams, plaster, and that amazing stone fireplace really highlights the natural materials and the stunning views. Daniel did an incredible job understanding our vision and helping us appreciate the value of really thoughtful architecture.”
