“Matt was present for the walk-through of my new home, which was helpful, but unfortunately he didn’t provide me with any documentation for my contractor. I contacted him repeatedly asking for a report, hoping to get things moving forward, and I even inquired about a refund if he couldn’t deliver. Despite all my efforts, I received no response and the construction process was significantly delayed. I ultimately won’t be using his services again and wouldn’t recommend him.”

“Matt was fantastic throughout the whole process. He quickly identified the structural issues in the attic and provided us with really clear blueprints to address them. He also went above and beyond by recommending a reliable contractor who gave us a fair estimate. And to top it off, he kept in touch to check on our progress and make sure we had everything we needed.”

“I’m incredibly frustrated with my experience working with this firm. I was initially excited when Matt Monroe, the principal engineer, contacted me about a potential project bid. However, after receiving the quote, I followed up to discuss the design, and he unexpectedly told me his draftsman had already completed 90% of the project without my knowledge. Despite the good price, I agreed to move forward. Since then, I’ve been trying to review the design for over three weeks, contacting Matt repeatedly – both by phone and text – but he’s completely unresponsive now. He’s stopped returning my calls and messages, and I’m no longer able to reach him. I’ve had to make the difficult decision to take my business elsewhere.”

“Overall, we were incredibly impressed with Highland. They responded to our request for a home inspection and structural engineering report – and we needed it done urgently before a holiday weekend – with amazing speed and efficiency. Not only that, but their pricing was fair. The inspector was fantastic too; he clearly explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and he had a really friendly and approachable manner. We’d definitely recommend them!”

“I’ve been incredibly impressed with Highland Engineering’s help over the last couple of weeks as they assessed three potential investment properties for me. Matt was fantastic – he really helped me understand the true cost of repairs, particularly with the two properties that had slab foundations. He pointed out that I was initially underestimating the work needed, and ultimately, that led me to pass on one of those properties. However, with the other slab foundation, Matt’s insight and a visit to the property together gave me the confidence to move forward with the purchase, knowing we could properly fix the foundation and still make a profit after remodeling. Then, with the pier and beam foundation, Matt was invaluable. The initial bid from the foundation company was quite high, but after we went into the crawlspace together and he explained exactly what was involved – and what wasn’t – the cost came down significantly. He’s now directing the repairs, and I’m confident this won’t be as overwhelming as previous reports suggested. I really appreciate Matt’s expertise and his willingness to work with me, especially scheduling those early Saturday morning visits. It's clear he understands the complexities of foundation work, and I’m looking forward to continuing to work with Highland Engineering – they’re helping me avoid costly mistakes and get accurate bids, which is a huge benefit for investors like myself.”

“I wanted to express my sincere gratitude to Laura and Patrick for their incredible help with the option period on our home sale. When a potential buyer requested an engineer’s report, I was really stressed about needing it quickly, and Laura immediately arranged for Patrick to come out and inspect the property the same day. They’ve both been absolutely fantastic, going above and beyond to ensure a smooth process. And the best part? No repairs were recommended – it’s been a truly stress-free experience thanks to their dedication.”

“I absolutely loved working with this company! My realtor was really stressed about a tight closing deadline, and they quickly got a quote and timeline from Patrick and his team. They were incredibly responsive and helpful right from the start. The report they provided was fantastic – it gave us and our lender everything we needed. Even when our lender needed some extra documentation to get everything approved, they went above and beyond by providing a supplemental report. And the best part? They didn’t charge us a dime for it! Seriously, they’re fast, reliable, and they treat you like a person, not just a transaction. I highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again for any future real estate needs.”

“Matt from Highland Engineering was fantastic! He was so polite and professional, but what really stood out was how thorough he was. We felt completely confident in our home purchase thanks to his attention to detail – we’d definitely recommend him.”

“Matt and his team were fantastic to work with – truly thorough and accurate in their assessment. They were instrumental in saving us from a potentially huge problem with our foundation. Plus, they were able to recommend a really excellent foundation repair company in Dallas. Considering the quality of their work and the price of just $450 per visit, I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend them and will definitely be calling them again if I need an engineer in the future.”

“I’ve been working with Highland Engineering since 2014, and I’ve been consistently impressed with their thoroughness and professionalism. Steve Monroe is a truly exceptional inspector – he’s incredibly knowledgeable, always punctual, and operates with a high level of integrity. I wholeheartedly recommend Highland Engineering to anyone needing inspection services.”
