“As a small business contractor, I was really frustrated with my experience renting a lift from the Gilbert location for a short job in Queen Creek. I only needed it for a couple of hours, but I ended up having to stop several times to recharge it, which completely derailed my workday. Because of this, I lost a significant amount of time and money – including gas costs – and had to drive a long distance to return the equipment. The lack of any communication or apology when this happened was also disappointing. It felt like a really inefficient and costly situation, and I definitely won’t be renting from there again.”

“I was incredibly frustrated with my recent United Rentals experience. I’d booked a dump trailer over a week in advance for a Tuesday pickup, and unfortunately, it wasn’t available. The location was the only one in the metro Phoenix area with a trailer, but they hadn’t informed me that it had been damaged and returned the day before – they’d simply logged it in their system without notifying me. After driving over an hour in heavy traffic, I arrived to find out the trailer was unavailable, and the staff even lied about it being dropped off that night. It was completely unprofessional and a huge waste of my time. Because of their failure to communicate, I ended up scrambling to find a replacement, adding two more hours of work to an already stressful situation. They offered no attempt to compensate me for the inconvenience, just a generic ‘sorry’ as if my time and plans were completely unimportant. Honestly, the whole experience was dishonest and incredibly disappointing.”

“Overall, the boom lift rental went smoothly until it unexpectedly broke down, which unfortunately impacted my schedule. While the issue was resolved quickly, I was quite surprised by a subsequent invoice for refueling – over $9.00 per gallon. I believe this charge should have been included in the initial rental agreement, as fuel should have been part of the overall cost. I also found the sales representative unhelpful when I raised these concerns. It felt like a completely unexpected and unnecessary additional charge.”

“Overall, I’ve been pleased with United’s management of my rental, but unfortunately, we experienced some significant delays that impacted my ability to get started. The initial machine delivered wasn’t suitable for my project, and nothing could be done on the first day due to technical issues. Then, a replacement arrived, but it was a duplicate of the first machine, so there was no work completed on the second day either. The promised boom machine was also late, arriving 5 hours past its scheduled time. Adding to the frustration, two of my key team members had to leave unexpectedly at noon, which further disrupted things. Given these issues, I’m hoping to receive credit for at least two or three days of rental.”

“I initially gave this place a one-star rating due to the poor quality of the equipment I was provided – it was clearly not up to standard. While the manager did eventually contact me and resolved the issue, it felt incredibly reactive; the fix only came after I’d already left a negative review and I had to negotiate a refund. Frankly, the initial $65 offered was a really small compensation for the inconvenience. It’s disappointing that support wasn’t offered proactively, and the manager’s delayed follow-up was also frustrating. I ended up finding a much better experience with another company that understood their equipment and provided proper support.”

They’re quick to respond to service calls and, when a repair isn’t possible, they promptly send out a replacement. I especially want to give a shout-out to Eric Korn; he’s always been incredibly helpful.”

“I was really frustrated with the pickup process. I’d requested same-day pickup at 1:00, but I wasn’t notified that I needed to call ahead. When the pickup link in my email didn't work, I tried to call to confirm, but I was stuck on hold for over an hour and ultimately had to hang up. It wasn’t until a week later that I received a notification the unit was still sitting there. Then, I had to go through three transfers just to get someone to actually arrange the pickup.”

“I had a really great experience renting from them. The equipment worked flawlessly, they arrived on time, and they were incredibly helpful and friendly to work with – and they were significantly cheaper than other options I’d looked at, like Home Depot. I’d definitely rent from them again and recommend them to others.”
