Overall, this was a decent experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the store itself was fine. However, I was a little frustrated because the trencher I rented had a chain issue right away. I’d recommend taking a really close look at any equipment before you start using it to avoid a similar problem. While it was a minor inconvenience, it was ultimately quicker to fix the issue myself than to go back to the store to exchange the machine.

I was incredibly frustrated with my recent experience. I made a reservation a week in advance and confirmed everything on Tuesday. When I went to pick up my truck, it wasn’t there. The employee checked and said it hadn’t been released yet, and I’d have to wait for the next truck to arrive. Honestly, it felt ridiculous because my reservation was then canceled just an hour before my scheduled pickup time! I ended up scrambling around to find a truck, and now I’m still waiting ten days for my original deposit back – and I’ve even had to pay an additional $150 to secure a truck at a different location. I'm seriously disappointed and very angry that my reservation wasn't honored.

“While they do offer tool rentals, it seems like inexperienced DIYers might actually find it’s more cost-effective to buy the tools outright. I tried to discuss this with them, explaining that my project would likely take longer than a day or a week, but they didn’t offer any advice or suggest that a purchase would be a better option.”

I was pretty disappointed with my recent experience renting a trencher from HD. We’ve been loyal customers of A to Z Rentals for years, but their rate was slightly lower, so we decided to give HD a try. The check-out process itself was really easy and the employee was very friendly. However, returning the trencher was a completely different story. I went out of my way to ensure everything was back in its place – I topped off the fuel, unhitched the trailer, and even moved the equipment up the sidewalk. Despite all that effort, I was charged a significantly higher amount than I anticipated, and considerably more than what we normally pay at A to Z. The employee wasn't sympathetic at all; he just insisted I was late, even though I explained the situation. Honestly, it felt incredibly frustrating after a positive initial experience, and the lack of understanding really made me reconsider using HD for future rentals.

Tim was incredibly helpful when I realized the diamond blade on the concrete saw I rented was completely dull – it wasn’t cutting at all. He quickly identified the issue and was genuinely sorry for the inconvenience. It was a really positive experience thanks to his assistance.
-
Honestly, I was pretty disappointed with the return process. The person who came to collect the ladder went above and beyond, carrying it all the way around the building for my husband, and while I appreciate the effort, it felt a bit much and I wasn’t thrilled with the situation.
-
“It’s a really handy spot to come to if you’re tackling a weekend DIY project and don’t have a full workshop’s worth of tools. I’d definitely use it again when the need arises.”
-
“Overall, it seems like a solid place – friendly people and a good variety of tools available for rent.”
-
“Honestly, it just needs a complete overhaul. Like, a total refresh – a quick fix and some serious maintenance.”
-
That was incredibly helpful and efficient – thank you so much!
