“Unfortunately, the contractor’s attempt to fix the faucet issue actually made things worse. I only noticed the problem – a missing gasket that wasn’t creating a proper seal – when I tried to use it. Worse yet, I found them to be quite aggressive and rude when I contacted them to discuss the issue. Despite being willing to pay for a correct repair, the added charge for them to come back and fix it was simply unacceptable.” report abuse

“I had Barns Plumbing replace some galvanized piping in our laundry room, running to the kitchen – about 30 feet total. We received a quote for $2,500. However, when the plumber arrived, he announced he was going to simply remove the old piping instead of replacing it as we’d agreed. The owner, Mike, then insisted that “replace” meant “remove and install,” blaming us for wanting to save money. It was incredibly frustrating because we specifically asked for a replacement, not a removal and installation. We would not have agreed to that price. Because of this change in scope and Mike’s dismissive attitude, we would not recommend Barns Plumbing. It’s crucial to get a detailed written quote outlining exactly what work will be done *before* any work begins, or avoid this business entirely – they seem willing to change the scope of the job at the last minute.” report abuse

“Barnes has been absolutely fantastic for us over the years. They consistently deliver high-quality work at a really fair price – we appreciate that so much. I’m not a professional, but I know when a job is getting too complicated, and Barnes has always been incredibly responsive. They’ve even rushed over to help us with unexpected issues, like when I broke the water shut-off knob while installing a new faucet – they were there in 20 minutes! It’s clear they’re dedicated to good service, and that’s why we’ve always called them first.” report abuse

“I wouldn’t recommend using this plumber. They did the plumbing and boiler installation in my home just under five years ago, and unfortunately, the work was faulty. The solder joint on the expansion tank leaked, which then damaged my circulation pump and left me without heat last night. It was incredibly frustrating, and I’m so grateful my friend and I were able to get to Menards before closing to get a replacement pump. Honestly, without a friend’s help, this could have been a much more expensive problem – potentially costing me hundreds, or even over a thousand, for an emergency plumber.” report abuse

“I’ve been consistently impressed with Barnes Plumbing. I’ve used them for multiple projects over the years, and they’ve always delivered excellent workmanship at a price that’s fair. I especially appreciated their work on my new bathroom – they handled the entire plumbing installation flawlessly. They also recently tackled a tricky problem with my basement floor drain, expertly replacing the old galvanized pipes. What really stands out is their reliability and how well they communicate; I always know I can count on them.” report abuse

“I wanted to share my experience after the work was completed in March 2022. The actual repair itself was fantastic – quick, efficient, and exactly what I needed. The technician was professional and did a great job. However, the billing process was completely unacceptable. Eight months later, I just received a bill for $290, which arrived right before Christmas. It’s shocking that it took this long to get a bill for a job that took only about 30 minutes. I was initially told there was a minimum one-hour charge at $230 an hour, but this wasn't actually applied. I called to discuss the bill, but unfortunately, I didn’t receive a clear explanation. Because of this frustrating experience with the billing and lack of communication, I wouldn’t use their services again.” report abuse

I contacted Barnes Plumbing based on a friend’s recommendation, and I was really hoping for a professional and reliable service. Unfortunately, my experience was incredibly frustrating. We had a gas leak that needed immediate attention, and when I explained the situation – including that the gas was shut off and Centerpoint Energy had already been there – Barnes scheduled a technician for the next morning. However, the technician insisted on having Centerpoint Energy come first, despite my explanation, and then proceeded to bill me $250 an hour while waiting for them. He didn’t disclose this hourly rate until three hours into the appointment and completely disregarded my concern that he was being charged for doing nothing. It felt like a complete lack of communication and transparency. Eventually, Centerpoint Energy confirmed the issue and the initial repair was incorrect, leading to further complications and more charges. While a different technician finally resolved the problem, the entire process was a nightmare, marked by poor communication, unexpected fees, and a technician who seemed unwilling to acknowledge the situation. Because of this experience, I cannot recommend Barnes Plumbing – especially for urgent repairs like a gas leak. report abuse

“We were really pleased with Barnes Plumbing! They quickly and efficiently repaired our pipe and installed a new faucet, and they also took care of removing and capping off several old gas pipes connected to our auxiliary furnaces and fireplace. Jordan was fantastic – friendly, professional, and got the job done in just an hour. We’ll absolutely be using Barnes Plumbing again for any future needs.” report abuse

  • Cathy Lombard

“Jordan did a fantastic job fixing my drain and, thankfully, he also spotted a small leak in the water line and took care of that too. I was a little surprised by the final cost – it turned out to be almost twice what I initially thought I’d pay, but because he was so efficient, it ended up being less. More importantly, it’s been over a year and a half and everything has worked perfectly since he completed the repairs.” report abuse

  • Nancy Failor

“I’ve used Barnes Plumbing before and was really impressed with their work, so when my kitchen faucet needed fixing, I immediately called them. They were punctual and got the job done incredibly quickly – I’ll absolutely be using their services again.” report abuse
